Progress pics

Okay so today i flexed and ran the speaker wires to the driver's door, installed the 2nd amp, connected all the ground cables, ran RCAs, re-wired the subwoofers, flexed a bunch of power wire, ripped out all my old RCAs and power wire, etc. Tomorrow i'll do the passenger side, run the 1/0 (best route for this thick **** wire?), put the 880prs in, and re-install the front components.

Also, my ID OEM cx64 midbass drivers came in, they are BEASTLY. Friggin huge/heavy for 6.5s, im excited. Havent decided if i want to make kicks for them or to just toss them in the rear doors.

PS i know i didnt flex the ground wires or RCAs, and that is because i'll be adding a 3rd amp in the near future (for the ID OEMs) so i dont want to flex that stuff until everything is set in stone. (no naggin Low )

A huge mess:

12awg from amp to x-over, 16awg to woofers/tweets:

Another mess/workstation:

Flexing speaker wire to be run to passenger front door:

Running RCAs:

Old 4awg wire vs. new 1/0:

Props to Kicker for making this awesome wire. Its ridiculously flexible for how thick it is, i really like this stuff. The distro blocks and fuse are beastly too.

Where did you get the Kicker wiring kit from? I've used that in a couple of my friends cars and that stuff is awesome! Super flexible for the size.

Well i finished at 10pm last night. It sounds pretty damn good, the tweets are slightly harsh at certain freqs but nothing a little EQ wont fix. Im just more anxious now to get the ID OEMs in there, the system will STOMP. (should i go rear doors or kicks?)

My camera is completely dead and i cant find the bat charger so no pix yet.

PS Low i dont know how you do this all day every day, my fingers are absolutely shredded from doing it just 2 days nonstop.

Okay, where did you mount the tweets?

My fingers are tore up everyday, but its all part of it. AND I LOVE WHAT I DO! Hell, I put a 2.5" stinger (drywall) screw threw my finger the other day, backed it out and kept on working.

Most will say no, but I have found that if you can go larger with the cable DO IT. It does help the sound IMHO. Power will be able to flow with less resistance, making the chain that much more efficient. (its not very technical but you get it)

Currently its the ID components in front doors, 2 10" JLs, US Amps 2 channel and a Power Acoustik mono. everything deadened heavily besides front floor.

Im going to put the ID OEMs in as dedicated midbass plugs once i get another amp for them, so probably pretty soon.

I put the 880PRS in today, AWESOME head unit. I love it already, and still have no idea how to work it. The EQ and tuning options are endless. Unfortunately the guy i bought it from didnt have the owners manual, so i'll have to download it or something.

EDIT: Also, the ID components are sounding better and better everyday. I think they needed a little break in because the tweeters are a little more laid back and the midbass is HUGE now.

Deaden/seal your doors people, it helps. A lot.

Okay will someone explain to me the point of wrapping RCA cables
I get wrapping the power wires under the hood - heat, vibration, friction ect. That makes sense. But the stuff in the car, and the (not here, I know, but its seen many other places) braggin of the "marine grade" or "welding cable" bulls*** - how does any of that matter? I'm pretty sure its not going to change a thing if I heat shrink the ends of my wires...
Correct me if I'm wrong but I see alot of that alot of places and I was wondering what exactly the point was...
