So it doesn't matter if you're at 97k like me, you can still switch to these plugs?

Why would the mileage keep you from switching to any plug you choose? Just keep in mind that not many plugs are going to last as long as the Motorcraft.

The change in wheels and tires can be a difference of 1 to 1 1/2 mpg. When I went from 265/70/17 to 305/50/20, I lost about 1 1/2 mpg.

Not surprising. Wider tire equals more contact patch. More contact patch equals more rolling resistance. More rolling resistance equals loss of economy.

Yes, more resistance and substantially more weight.

Now if I had the guts to change my m/c plugs myself.... lol

I wouldn't have that problem after these though.

Yeah I'm thinking about having these put in whenever I get my plugs changed. I need to get them done soon since I'm at ~72k

I just got all 8 MC plugs out without a single one breaking. I took a mechanics advice and ignored the TSB where it said do not use air tools. I used an impact on all 8. Now if only I could get the back one IN on the passenger side id be done. Total time of about 3 hrs taking my time and going slow.

Any suggestions on getting that last plug in there?

If you already removed the plug, whats keeping you from installing a new one?

I got a good mechanic who already changed out the plugs in our 2007 Police 5.4 3v Expedition, where we service our Ford Police vehicles! The original MotorCraft plugs wore out at 35K miles due to all of the idileing that a Police Vehicle does! He told me to bring in my truck whenever I want, since he already has experience with the procedure! I'm gonna have him put in the E3's in my truck! Heck he will probably put them in the Expedition next time due to their one piece design! .............

I think I'll give these a shot too. I just need to make sure I order the right one, knowing me.

This is a 2007 5.4L Crew Cab 4x4 Lariat with 66k miles. I went from the stock motorcraft to the E3 plug and have about 1200 miles on the new plugs.

So far I am averaging about 1 mpg better on my commute to work.

I used to get right at 17.0 with normal driving. I am now getting 18.2 with normal driving.

Drove a 5 hr highway drive last weekend... on the way there the cruise control was always between 65-70 and I averaged 20.0 MPG when I arrived. On the way home i kept it between 75-80 and averaged 19.2 mpg.

I am not sure about helping performance wise... my truck is a truck so I never really get on it anyway ( i have a race car for that). But the truck runs much smoother and my "bucking" when the motor lugged going up a hill is completely gone.
