E3.70 if it's a 5.4L The 4.6L takes the E3.54

Hi Steve.

Nosir - you are safe ( sort of, lol).

Yer plugs are of the traditional one-piece design.

Yer issue (potentially) is one of blowout since you only have 3-4 threads in the head.

What I would do is at least check the torque on yours soonest. And if you do replace, current wisdom suggests OEM Motorcraft (or a similar nickel-plated plug like Denso, etc), no anti-seize on the threads, and 28 ft-lbs dry.

And - it's fantastic news with respect to future extraction concerns.

We may just have a winner here that will satisfy folks who seek options. Who knows - perhaps this is the impetus that NGK or Denso needs to get off their collective butts and finally produce a competitive one-piece plug.

Sam, I am humbled

Next time I'm in Maine the are on me, sir.

PS - Jbrew.. WTF are you ??? Do you have any idea what the kilowatt-hours for that dang Searchlight is costing me???

Thanks mgdfan really cleared that up for me, I appreciate it. I wonder if a set of e3 plugs would be a good or bad idea?

Hey Steve.

For what the OEM Motorcraft Double Plats cost, and how superbly they work in a stock Triton, there is no reason to use anything else.

The reason that the E3 3.70's are pushing hot buttons is that there is a dearth of alternatives to the OEM 2-piece 3V plugs, so any more one-piece options is a very welcome & good thing.

The 2V plugs have a vast number of choices in comparison.

If you wanted to spend ( a LOT) more, my next choice would be Denso IT-16's.
