amazon.com had the E3.60 (for 4.2L V6) for $0.88. I'm waiting to see how you guys liked them before I put them in.

The important thing is that these are pre-gapped, but not to 0.54. Don't try to "re-gap", that won't work. Just trust the manufacturer that these are suppose to work at whatever size the gap is from the factory.

Now let me stir the pot about using anti-seize on these. Since plugs now come as 100,000 mile plugs, I haven't changed spark plugs since John Travolta was young, slim, and dancing in a white suit. Appearently, when installing Motorcraft plugs, you don't use anti-seize anymore. In the days of Jack sharing an apartment with Janet & Chrissy, Larry Dallas would have used anti-seize on the threads & di-electric grease in the boot. Is anyone going to use anti-seize on their E3 spark plugs?

When I put these in, I will use NICKEL anti-seize on the shank, but NOT on the threads.. Same procedure as used on the Motorcraft plugs. Always use dielectric grease in the boot.

thread length??

Hey Sam

Just wondering, How much longer is the thread length of the E3 compared to the MC??? Just thinking, if its longer that it may become problematic if it does have any anti-seize on the thread once installed. Thanx...

Nick,

Nick,
The plugs are identical in length including the threads, I know that pic is deceiving. Anyway, they went in this afternoon. Fired right up and ran like a kitten, so......here we go with how long they go without any problems. Might be just me, but the idle is a lot smoother and seems like a little more 'pep' under foot...could be just me though...will keep all of you posted if problems come up.

Yea..no problem with the old plugs..truck only has 27,500 mi on her. Pulled the plugs at 6000 ant put the anti-seize to them. They were carboned up quite a bit...truck doesn't get used that often, nor goes very far most of the time, but, she is one big 'money pit hobby' of mine ...LOL

If you only have 27,000 miles, then why are you changing the plugs so soon?
