So the e3s didn't stand the test of time....that's too bad...
Where'd you get the weapon x cops from?

Thanx!

Do they use the springs or do they have the connectors?

Edit...
I found my answer....the springs are eliminated...

They are a one piece unit, top to bottom. They actually 'snap' onto the plug and have no hold-down bolt. Just snap onto the plug and plug in the pigtail....DONE ! Fits quite tight in the well also. Go to the site and look at them...skinny little things !!...LOL

Am I to understand that these E3 plugs may not be a viable alternative?

Well I am to believe, that you can't completely rule them out yet. Just because 1 member has had a problem with them. Since they are mass produced, a company is bound to have that 1 item that just wasn't made to par.

you know?

Now that being said. I'm still going to install mine. But am in no way going to endorse them. lol.

In all honesty AAK, I don't know what to tell you. Judging from 'thomabro's' problems with them. In my experience, I started to get a rough idle condition, but, that just could be my driving habits..everyone is different. Mine didn't look bad when I pulled them (8500 mi). It was just my gut feeling to put the Motorcraft's back in. I can't say that the E3's would be a long term alternative at this point anyway. In saying that, everyone has a different driving habit, what won't work for me might work well for you. I just can't be comfortable in saying these plugs are a cure-all anymore. I can't be anymore honest than that.

Thomabo,
I'm glad to hear that they are willing to work with you. I ordered 8 of their plugs about 2 weeks ago. I have them sitting in my garage, waiting. I think I am going to try them still with Original COPs and see how they are.

Speaking of which, are you going to be using your Global COPs still? or all Motorcraft??
i have the 5 known good original motorcraft coils and 3 global coils in it right now. i wish i could afford the weapon x coils or at least the connector upgrade. ohwell, i will say that the truck has a lot more pep to it with the 515 then the e3's did even on the times when they were working.

Well I had had the E3's in for about 3000 miles and have a rough idle every now and then... not bad enough to shake the truck but I can tell it is not hitting just right.

Have you cleaned the MAF and throttle body? Could be those are dirty. However, there have been a couple of posters with failure of the E3s. One had the isulator separate from the electrode on several plugs.
