That was the second time in ~3 years that I was rear ended within 1/4 mile or so on that stretch of road. The last time I was in my old truck (97) coming home after spending 10+ hours at the office and was hit by a Crown Vic. He smashed his front end pretty good and I only had a couple of powder blue scuffs on the bumper so I just went home. You could still smell the paint on his car it was so fresh.

Sometimes the traffic just gets you and there's nothing you can do.
Been driving for 36 years, four wrecks, three of those I was rear-ended.
Two in Hampton and two in Newport News. The last one was about ten years ago, so I'm due.

My first wreck was my fault, I was 17.
Nobody got hurt but me.
Usually one of those and you get rightious for life but, there are a lot of 17 year olds out there, regardless of their actual age.

I was 18 and had my first real wreck. I was looking at something in the junkyard and ended up rear ending a blazer. Almost got around him too.

I spoke with the body shop today, the frame is torn this time and they refuse to do any work on it. (I don't blame them) It seems that the last body shop heated the frame to get it back in place which weakened it. The adjuster has to come look at it again and make the call. The body shop said they would fix it if the adjuster wanted to pay for a new frame and bed.

Looks like somebody might be getting a new truck.

I wish. I just bought my wife an 04 Expedition last October after her car was totaled so my expendable income is reduced a bit. I just can't justify a new truck right now and even the used ones are pretty darn steep depending on year and options. I think I'm getting old because I actually looked at buying a Volvo. At least it was turbocharged.

Thought of it briefly, but honestly I can't bring myself to sue someone for something like that when I'm relatively healthy and functional. Karma is a mother. Now if the guy had been drinking or otherwise under the influence, well that's a whole nuther ball game. I think I'd have Uncle Pete (Decker) on retainer. It could just as easily been me that was rubernecking and hit someone else. Do you rent goats and carts for transportation?

What a crock! I see "feces on the roadway" almost every day. You didn't run off with that officers daughter did you?

That gives a whole new meaning to the term "road rash" or is it "Rode rash"?

Still no word on my truck.

I've been eyeballing 4runners as a replacement, but not sure if one will fit the bill.

Chillin like a villain.

Actually I'm taking a break from being quite so busy. The truck is at Mizells (sp) in Norfolk, they're a well established and respected frame shop. The body shop couldn't find a replacement frame so the adjuster told them to send it to Mizells for evaluation. Playin the game. You?
