I've been out fishing at the new pier in Ocean View, caught a few limits of blue. Anyone else been out? A few years ago I used to run up to Cheatam Annex and fish the resupply pier and sometimes the shore on the Colonial PKWY. They had good sized croaker up that way.
Man, this thread is as dead as a John Kerry joke.
In other news my wife's car was crumpled in the HRBT the other week. Everyone was fine, but the car was done for. It's since been replaced by an 04 Expy. Woo Hoo!

Hey Pony, glad to hear everyone is ok. You sure will have alot of protection around the family in the Expy.
Where did you get it from? I got my Truck from Bowditch (the 2nd best buying experience I have ever had, Williamsburg Honda was the 1st best with the wifes Honda).
Freedom Ford on Military Highway in Norfolk, the same place where I bought my Screw. They're a business but I've had pretty good experiences with them. Plus in this last go-round I didn't have a lot of time to haggle, ****er, look elsewhere etc. We lookeed at the trucks (she wanted one like mine but newer) and at the end of the line on the way back was a light blue EB Expedition. The salesman didn't have a price on it (sent up a flag and made my guts turn LOL) she fell in love with it before even starting it up. Buttons to push everywhere, DVD player for entertainment of the boys, etc. Took it for a test drive and waited for the numbers.
All in all we ended up OTD with extended warranty and GAP coverage for less than I thought so all was well.
For my truck I saw it online, called and asked if they'd take a personal check (yes) told them I'd be there after I ate dinner. Showed up, took a test drive said I want it OTD/OTR for ~$1 over their asking price. They counter offered for $257.57 over that. I shook his hand, signed the papers and was off in no time at all. I really hate haggling, I see it, I like it, give me an acceptable price on it and I'll buy it.

Hi all, I'm a long time lurker from the Eastern Shore. I was disappointed when I saw the post about Freedom Ford in Hampton. I bought my truck there in July 05 and had a very good experience. I googled the new name and found an article that stated.
"In September, Brian Wynne, former president and general manager of Freedom Ford Hampton, bought that dealership from Freedom Automotive, which has two sites in Norfolk and Chesapeake. Wynne then renamed Freedom Ford Hampton Wynne Ford, which still sits on West Mercury Boulevard. "
I guess the name has changed but the dealer is still the same. (I hope) Here's a link to the rest of the article, If anyone is interested.

I bought new at Freedom Ford in Norfolk back in '95. When I was ready to buy a second one in '99, Freedom Ford had bought out Center Ford in Hampton so, that was a lot closer for me. I take my vehicles in every 5k for service.
One has 157k the other 98k so I've been to that dealership 51 times in the past 11 years.
I've rode in the courtesy van so many times the drivers have the radio preset to my favorite station and I don't have to give directions.

I purchased a Mountaineer from Freedom years ago and did not like the buying experience, but I know if varies from customer to customer. I just had a bad salesman.
also Pony, I know what you mean by not wanting to haggle. I want your bottom price and from there if I want it, I'll buy it. If I wasn't interested I wouldn't be there in the first place. If any of you guys do ever decided to by a Honda of any sort, try Williamsburg Honda first. Those guys were awsome to me and my wife. They got her the car she wanted and me the price I wanted.
And for the record, I do not get a kick back from promoting them......

Not only did I get a good deal I managed to steal a stapler off the salesmans desk.
I thought I was pretty slick.
When the deal was done the salesman put all my papers together and said:
"Uh sir, could you please staple these for me?"

At least you were prepared for the deal.
I had lunch with my wife at the Wendy's adjacent to the Former Freedom Ford in Hampton last week and noticed the name change. Do they still carry Saleen's? The last time I looked at the Freedom website it still had Hampton listed IIRC, when did the deal go through?
FYI I had two different salesmen at FFN, Larry Cope (Who has since moved on) and Gary Flick, USN Ret (But I didn't hold that against him).
