Same ole same ole. Just doing my thing. I have to take my truck BACK to the body shop (again) to meet with the manager and insurance rep. You would think that after the first time I told them the repairs were unacceptable that they would repair it correctly.
Anyone home? My tuck is BACK at the body shop getting a few things they neglected fixed. They set me up with a 4 door, 4WD Ram for a rental. Not very impressed with it. It is faster than my truck and rides pretty smooth, but it feels a bit chinsy, the back seat is smaller than I'm used to, no running boards, and worst of all the steering is WAY too light for a truck like that IMO. It drives like a go kart. My truck feels solid when I turn the wheel, this one feels like it's going to shoot off the road if you twitch it too hard and has little feedback. Not bad for a rental though. I'm tempted to take it offroading.

As for the trees, BE CAREFUL! It's dangerous work, but you can do it safely.
You can see the official procedure here.

Just remember
1. Don't try to force a tree to fall in a direction other than it's already leaning unless you have to.
2. Tying it off can cause it to fall in a way you don't want it to.
3. #2 is especially true if you tie it off close to the ground (less than half the height of the tree)
How big are the trees?

woops, sorry for the LONG LONG wait for a reply. Just been so dang busy.
We took down like 8 trees with only one snag. A limb caught my neighbor gutter and pulled it a lil, but easily fixed.
One funny thing that happened though was we cut one tree down and it landed directly ontop of another tree that we cut off about 9 feet from the ground. I teetered like a seesaw, i never would have seen that comming. I had to hook it up to my screw to pull it off.
A few of the other trees we cut about half way through then hooked it to my truck and yanked it the rest of the way down.
All and all we did a good job. We got five more, but their are a lil bigger than we would like to tackle, and they hang right over our garages and his privacy fence. We got someone professional to take them down for a 100 bucks a pop.
so hows the patched up screw doing?
Busy here too!
The Screw..
Still missing the fuel door...long story. Other than that it is/was fine until last night. I had a snag with my TP E-fans. One of the inline fuse holders (which suck BTW) fried itself. By fried I mean it burned to a crisp and you can see clear though the body of it. I will post pics later, but I have to call TP tomorrow for some advice. I think it killed either the fan controller or my high temp fan. After splicing in a new fuse (until I can get a dedicated and SEALED fuse block) and the fan still isn't working. I don't really like driving around with one fan operational and no backup.

More adventures with the Screw. It's all back together from the body shop, but I finally got fed up with my e-fans. Spent a few hours and a chunk of change trying to fix them last night and ended up ripping the whole shebang out around midnight. Hope ya'lls trucks are doing better.

Not a clue man. I will have to wait until I have some free time to dig into it. The fans are sitting in the garage right now, the wiring harness is in there somewhere (got chucked into the garage when I freed it from the truck. The controllers are still in the truck with the wires cut off. Not sure how to test them, but I suspect that one or both is bad.
After hooking up the new setup (new relays in a sealed box) neither fan was working and both had been working previously. I thought about mounting the controllers and relays in the cab, but my wife asked "What happens when they burn down again."
I told her I'd likely be the first to know about it.
I will test the fans to see if they are still good, if they are I may buy two new controllers and go that route. I'll have to pull everything out of the truck again to reinstall them though; washer fluid tank, battery, radiator etc. Not looking forward to that.
If the fans are bad it's on to plan B. Not sure what that is right now, but it may be a FAL 270 kit. Or take my wife's suggestion and buy a new truck (not happening).
