See what you started Gregg, heheheh (just a little humor)

Gregg my close friends know how sick I am over this, THEY TRULY DO : o (
and thats because the truck was running so good, you know that I know that and others know that, (so if I sounded a little defensive you know why, sorry) And YES hell ya your supopse to be able to get on it thats what it's built for, and thats why we all assume there is something more to the way it happen ? I do believe what your saying and your a great guy, thats why I dam near fell out of my chair when you told me this happen : o ()
Especially because Motors dont blow up while they're sleeping so there has got to be more ??? You def said you were leaving the L there over night, and I remembr you saying the guy was nice enough to assure you he'd put it inside overnight. Is it possible you left a key and they jumped it and took it for a ride ??? I guess it dont matter and your right all the finger pointing is useless, when you find out what happen please do let us know.

You guys talk like I'm cursed or something ??? (ok I had some REAL BAD luck with Blacky #1 but that was then) as for my wrenching skills I'd put them against the best out there ANYDAY of the week, and NEVER ONCE has any issue in any vehicle been a result of anything I did, so my record is perfect thank you...

Hey ROB! welcome to my thread from HELL!!!!! Jokin Bro... haha.

Yes my point IS.. the truck was NOT running after I shut it off in the parking lot @ the Tire place... We had to push it in the bay to put on the new tires.. then push it back out. It WOULD NOT start.. at all, so no way could they have driven it in the morning... or ANY other time for that matter.. Thats why I left it there, otherwise I WOULD have driven it HOME.. My Tow guy was there @ 8 am to pick it up.

@ Cursed.. its all good ROB! Honest! no blaming here at ALL!

If I may set the record straight.

Rob in my humble opinion... is a STAND-UP guy... After numerous phone conversations with him back and forth b4 I bought the truck, after I bought the truck and still its very concerned about it, I never ever ever thought himself or Sal had anything to do with this. I bought the truck " as is " , not that I am saying anything was wrong with it, but that is a NORMAL business transaction.. all you guys know it as well as I do.... "POOP" as they say happens.. and well it happened in this case... I will deal with it. I still LOVE the truck and look forward to allot of years owning it.
The TIRE shop had NOTHING to do with it. I saw the truck the whole time, NO ONE DROVE the truck except ME. It was sitting there the whole 20 minutes in the LOT as I waited for my turn in line for the tires.
Is there something I could have done to it? Am I to blame? possably? I dont KNOW.. All I know is that I drove it a whole 60 miles here when I got it back.. to the alarm place, to the gas station,to the dry cleaners, to the bed cover place, to the oil changing place, ... maybe they took it for a JOY RIDE when I wasn't looking, the whole 15 minutes I was there with them in the bay?

I DID not ABUSE this truck, I love this truck, I babied it the whole way home and here also. I never got ON it.. and my thought is.... isn't the truck built to "get on it" isn't it made for a little FUN? I cant believe that a truck this built can not be driven in some kind of aggressive manner.. NOT that I even did drive it that way... But you have to bet I was going to when the weather permitted me to.
So all of the " speculations" about what happened will only be answered once it is torn down and looked at..

I do have to again repeat... I am NOT blaming ANYONE, not the oil change guys, not the tire shop, not the dry cleaner woman who looked at it with a "O WOW" that is a nice truck, and especially not ROB or SAL.. it happened, and I will make damn sure that it does not happen again. I cant afford it..

So thanks for all of the concern and wondering and speculation and blaming someone... I take the blame, I take the responsibility, It my truck and I plan on keeping it for a long long time...
EXCELLENT POST MAN...Welcome to the forums

This somewhat reminds me of an 84 F250 Centurian custom dually diesel I bought in 86 from someone I knew. I had known the truck since it was new as the guy worked for one of my distributors. It had 62K highway miles on it and had been superbly maintained.

Long story short...I put only about 100 miles on it when it dropped a valve starting it up in my driveway one morning! the Ford dealer tore the engine down and everything was clean enough to eat off of. It just picked that time for a valve keeper to turn loose! The guy that had just sold it too me felt like Rob feels right now!

Anyway, $4500. dollars later I had a new short block and was good to go....and kept the truck for 10 years...I HAD too keep it in order to recover my investment!

I just chalked it up to one of the drawbacks in buying a used vehicle! S*** happens!

Like many I've been following this post and I have a quick question, the alarm company did what? Are they using a fuel pump kill or ignition kill? On your return trip or at any time did you run the fuel past the 1/4 tank? The reasons being obvious, no finger pointing curious?

Traditionally 'competition-only ' type motors don't come with a warranty. Although I do think I remember one of the vendors offering six months if you could prove that it was an assembly/machining/build issue.

What it boils down to is they only hand you the grenade...it's your fault if you yank that pin!

Its the ignition kill... And no I never actually got it below 1/4 tank as a matter of fact, 1/2 was as far as I would go, because I had to pee from all of the coffee that I needed to KEEP AWAKE ! on a 13 hour trip..
