Sorry it's only a minute long but it's something.
I cleaned Spanky's engine while he did my brakes yesterday, took a little video on the way to have my rotors turned.

Note it was 109 out (At 7pm)
Spanky can chime in to answer questions. All I really know is that "kick in the ***" I thought this truck should have when getting on it, his does.

Sorry no burn out vid.

This is for those "I want to see it running" people" enjoy.

Whipple video broadband (15 megs)

Whipple video small (Dial up 3 megs)

Hi there, I hope I'm not asking a question that has already been answered but comeon now, you've got ten pages here..LOL The truck sounds very good, and I just wanted to know exactly what you have done to the exhaust. My 2001 is undergoing a few changes and I still have the 4 cats. I'm curious as to what my JBA headers and my Flowmaster cat-back system will sound like if I hollow those babies out. Also, it looks like you're taking some flack for going with the whipple charger instead of the KB. I'm actually from Fresno, Ca. where they make the Whipple. I may have some inside info on the company if you want it...LOL A few of my friends have worked for them. I've heard that Edelbrock may buy them out as well. Anyway, I'd really like to know what youre runnin as far as exhaust, thanks! BK

Kooks long tubes, Maggy hi-flow cats + xpipe and a very old Bassanni (non-stainless tips)(it probably sounds like that due to 3 years of being beaten) is what I can remember.

I got to throw this in here "11 pages woo woo!" (I'm basking in the glory that is f150online.)

BTW since posting that video my site has hit 22 gigs of throughput on that file alone, that's a ton of downloads for that video and not many people saying much about it.

Why not ask someone with a good running KB truck to do the testing. That makes no sense to me at all. I think it is rather silly to be honest with you. -Mat-

i was not chosen as a test vehicle. this kit is the actual production kit. I was first on the list and when 10 compressors came in 2 were slated for lightning kits and 1 was mine. I paid for it.

As far as poor running condition i take offense to that statement. I have a miss at idle. only idle, as soon as i give it gas the miss is gone. I has this with the eaton on. I knew the whipple came with replacement vac lines and i figured it was a vac leak well no dice. It is worse when cold. when warm it's barely there. ONly does it when at idle or at a light. Has brand new plugs, had 4 extra good copil packs and switched them around no difference, No codes, no abnormalities on my scanner, no vac leaks, compression test showed every cyl between 125 and 150 psi, fuel pressure at 37psi KOEO. I'm lost now as to what the prob is and it in no way should deligate as to wether or not i get a whipple

My exhaust is Kooks long tubes, High flows that have been gutted and a basanni catback.

as far as dyno testing and track times it is 110 out every day at least. I'm noit gonna waiste my time at the track with ****ty times due to hot as hell heat. There is only 1 dyno in town. It an import place. A friend went and they had to move 4 bare engines off the dyno to get his car on. i'm not gonna let some 25 year old import freak dyno my truck thinking he's mario andretti on the dyno. Esp when they don't know what detination is and to let out when you hear it. The next closest dyno is 125 miles away at least. I will trailer my truck up to dyno in phoenix. SVC has a dyno but it is a mustang dyno which sux

You might check the Fuel Injector "O" rings. Sometimes when they are installed into the hole an O Ring can slip out of the grove and cause a vacuum leak on that cylinder causing a mis at idle, that happened to me.

I wouldn't be too concerned with SVT F15O's remarks. They seem somewhat envy driven. I appreciate the photos. The blower is a nice looking piece, and when they finally start pumping them out, I will probably order one over a KB. I noticed KB has chosen not to answer my questions in a previous post in this very same thread (about rotor contact). Kinda disappointing.

Don't take offense to a comment made by me. In no way was I trying to down-talk you or your truck. We have talked on a friendly basis many a times. All I was saying is Whipple does have something to prove with what they and the followers have stated in the past. I would think they would give/sell the first product to someone who is gonna go out there and dyno test it. Go out there and track test it. Who cares how hot it is>??? I will still race in the heat. When I go to the dyno, I drive my own truck on there, they have no problem with it. Why not try and explain what is going on to them>??? Maybe they aren't as bad as you think. Best of luck with the truck Will. Like I said before, I look forward to seeing some numbers from your truck. I wish you the best in getting it running 100% soon.

Envy of what>?!?!? I think the Whipple is ugly and would NEVER put one on my truck, EVER.
My truck runs great and does everything I ask of it. It will wipe the floor with most of the other trucks out there, not just in performance, but also reliablity.
I have more respect for myself then to buy from a company that changes their story around so many damn times. If everyone else wasn't so worried about trying to 1-up the guy next to em' they would have the same feelings as me.
You know nothing about me or what drives my comments.

This discussion about dynoing Spanky's Whipple is stupid. Unless your doing a controlled back to back dyno, with a KB and a Whipple on the same truck the numbers dont mean squat. There are just too many other variables. Hell Spanky's cam or head set up might suck.

The KB and Whipple are going to be close in the final analysis. If the Whipple has any advantage it will mostly be because it has a rear entry instead of a top entry. Regardless, the differences (if any), could be compensated for by a pulley change. How many of you are running maximum boost/airflow anyway? Which of these two blowers you chose is going to be less important then the set of heads, the right cams, and for sure a good tune. It is fun to argue about it tho I guess.

no offense taken.

i have nothing against a mustang dyno. but i have done all my pulls on a dynojet. It wouldn't really prove anything with dynojet numbers going to mustang dyno numbers.

I'm not talking **** about the KB. I never have. I'm not doubting the KB does makes a ****load of power. But between both i chose the whipple. 1 for looks because i think it looks a ****load better than a KB and 2 for the rear entry option and 3 for the lock ups withs KB's put me in whipples court. I'm sure the whipple will put out more power than the KB but i feel it will be marginal not spectacular maybe by 20-30hp. If kenne bell wants to send me a unit for a true back to back dyno test i would def be up to it. Get a magazine involved, do it at KB or whipple headquarters whatever. I would do it. But the odds of that happening are slim to none.

I could only go by how you came across in my opinion. You're right. I know nothing about you other than what you write.

+1 there. I always thought the KB physcially looked like someone cast it in their backyard. The whipple looks awesome.

yeah i like the looks of the whipple also. Looks stellar in the engine bay without the intake on top of it.
