Ours was on the Eaton a feat yet to be repeated. As far as calling it a tuner war its far from that. I think the amount of 10 sec JDM (daily driven) trucks out there speak for themselves.

I always thought it was run what you brung.... or sumthing!!!

Hang in there Chris.....You will not be happy doing what is sensible (putting a stock motor in) ......."fix it" ... !!!

buy a plain / stripped down F 150 single cab 6 cly for "169 a month" (employee discount) for your daily driver and get your pride and joy back on the road

I have no reason to contact them, but anyone can see who is most helpful on these boards - for FREE, for ANYONE'S customers. That's the point I was making and feel free to offer up some evidence to the contrary.

Edit: Let me add that I'm not taking away from JLP's and JDM's success on the track and with their customers. My point was they rarely post on here just to be helpful unless it is their customer. Justin was helpful to non-customers, but I guess he isn't with JDM now?

I have a couple things to add....since there seems to be three topics being discussed on one thread :o

I would just like to wish Chris the best of luck in getting his truck up and running correctly. It sure looks like he will have a 10 sec pass when he does.

The second thing is about this "STD vs SAE" debate going on. Guess what guys????? There is NO correct answer on which is the correct "standard" to use, as long as you state which one is being used( I have a little credibility here in the fact that I have a MS in Mechanical Engineering and design naval Propulsion systems) They are both accepted correction standards by NIST(The National Institute of Standards and Technology) located in Gaithersburg, MD. So you might wanna save yourselves some breath because you can debate the subject till you are blue in the face and in the end.....there will be no right answer....just opinions.

That plus it seems we have part of the vendors doing it one way and part doing it another ...

Seems there is always an argument of who's right. They both seem to be valid options - All dynos I have seen let you graph the numbers either way.

Funny thing is I often get emailed or PM'ed or the Report to moderator link is used to report a post like this that is not "telling the truth" - Just like this example most of the time there is no "truth" - It is a choice ... Because person X makes a certain choice for his reasons that becomes " The truth" - " The way "

Seems silly ...

I feel soooo bad for Chris, I think at this time, him OR ANY OF US,
could give a rats a$$ what method we use to determine his final numbers. WHAT WE DO KNOW, is Chris single handedly built one of thee, (IF NOT THEE) fastest and most powerful lightning motors in the world, AND FOR THAT HE ALREADY WON IN MY BOOK

But just for the record, I have the fastest L in the world
(in my category)

Chris,

Not trying to make light of your unfortunate turn of events.

I dont care who you are, thats funny stuff right there....

My .02 is this, ( since everyone else is chiming in with theirs)

Chris will fix his truck and when he does, hopefully he will install all the needed safety equipment required to run a 10 to keep him safe and secure.

Sal, JL and Jim will argue like idiots sometimes but they are only sticking up for what they believe. I for one find it entertaining.

Dyno numbers are just that, numbers, but they dont mean ***** to me unless you run at the track what you should for the numbers you posted. Alot of the so called 10 second daily driven trucks have numbers that should have yeilded them a mid to low 10 months or years ago, yet they are high 10 second trucks only when its cold out or in race trim, and some of them do it without the legal safety items needed to run a 10. Please Chris, dont build up your truck to just run a number, build it to be consistant, fast and safe to boot.

Lastly, I dont feel there is any need for comments like the ones made by waveblaster and others. Those comments were inflammatory and only served one purpose, to bring down the IQ level of this site and this thread. Maybe waveblasters's posts would have been constructive if he would have run better at MIR this past weekend.

I guess that 9.88 is just killing some people eh? Alot of catching up to do , and yes I'm JL tuned H/D

Later...

Bruce

this is a great thread, what we all want is a showdown at the track in kansas. and we could get it if we keep nagging
