I have a turbo dodge challenger putting out 780/850 running the 1/4 at 9.3 158 mph.

in Xbox's Sega GT 2002 that is . Thats a fun game, hehe. You can buy a bunch of mods and adjust your turbo's boost pressures if you buy one. i have to rebuild my motor after about 15 races though. too bad the game doesn't have drag slicks in the tire selection. might could go 8's. guess i went off topic.

I hate to say it but on the street a Z06 will most likely own the majority of L's out their.

The MPH is just too much too overcome on the street..esp. from a roll.

Have you checked out LS1.com and the post about a Viper vs Z06 vs 2 H/C Trans-Ams vs 03 Cobra...well that was me in my 03..this happened 2 weeks ago
This past week-end we had a rematch just that I brought the L just to see how it would hold-up...funny how they dont mention the L...anyways

My L is pretty stout...6lb Lower,Chip,Drag Radials,QA1's..etc.

I ran the Z06(Filter,also has a 100 shot) on MOTOR from 20 to 110...by 90 he had 2 cars on me and 2.5 by 110.

Funny is with my Cobra(Filter,Chip,Exhaust) I had 3 cars on the Z06 on Motor from a 40 to 130.

Just to show you...on the streets MPH wins, now if we would of gone from a dead stop maybe it would of been closer but still not enough.

Yes, the L is fast for a truck and can surprise alot of people...but when it comes to the big dogs its the Cobra that comes out.

hmmmmmmmm....

Cobra - yup, I definitely considered one - it's just the whole Vette mystique and following that swayed me - plus I owned one before.

I am older and there's not too many older Cobra owners around here - all younger fella's.

Plus the club scene is very big around here for the Vette's not so much for the Cobra's and I didn't want a back seat wanted a true American Icon sports car, plus the 50th edition badging makes it special - to me anyway...

Around here...there happens to be a great number of vettes cruising the street, but, in exception of the occasional Z06, they just seem like such a "I just made a lot of money, know nothing about sports cars, and just want to have a good looking car that goes fast" car. Every yuppie in town has one, whereas the cobra seems to be driven by someone who seems a bit more informed about what they are driving, and the performance they have at their disposal. This is solely my observation. Even a few high schoolers around here drive a few 01'-02'-03' corvettes, and drive around thinking they are the fastest and most beautiful thing on the road. Imagine the look on guys face who, with his slightly modded, and smooth black C5 on chromes, got walked by 3 carlengths by sleek black truck with a whine like a bomb raid siren in Baghdad. Hey, but I wouldn't know anything about that.

I hate to disagree, but look at this video
It isn't a stock cobra it has pulley, filter, chip, and exhaust. I'm even going 5mph faster on the top end than him...

The average stock zo6 no matter the year does not even run low 12's stock, around here they run 12.70's in the 405 hp versions on great hooking tracks.

They are bad cars...but lets not get carried away with the #'s please.

Dude, I have to wonder who is delusional, even BMW Trend could do better than that with a Z06. Mid 11's stock with DR's?? You bet your a@@

Come on now, you just showed one of the top 20 Lightnings in the world probably...Is that even on a stock blower, and it was spraying?correct...

Also with just Chip,Filter and Exhaust and a 2.3 60' I trap 115....in the Cobra,no pulley..imagine what would happen if i threw a pulley on...it just has all the advantages..

Mod for Mod I dont think any car compares to the 03...yes Lightnings can be made fast..but it sure takes a WHOLE lot more, that is why I purchased an 03...and kept the Lightning..I love'em both...but when Pure speed is an issue the Cobra is the pick hands down..

Take Care....

BTW-THAT IS ONE BAD *** L

Well, if you put it that way. The Cobra is by far the better choice to get going quicker.

No, the clutch is, my clutch started slipping after 15,000 miles. If the clutch is upgraded, the shafts will go. There is a guy down here that has a built up Z-06 motor, 150 shot and an upgraded clutch. He broke the shafts on his Z-06 twice. He's running something like 10.80's @ 130 or so.
Are you talikng about a dyno tune type programming or the hypertech programming ,because you cant run the hypertech programming with nitrous. You cand o it with a superchip ,but that still isnt a smart idea. The best thing to do is get it tuned on the dyno. I dont know about the Z06 halfshafts breaking that much ,a local has a 383 storker with a 10psi blower on his Z06 and has only upgraded the clutch ,so far nothing has broken.

Hmm...maybe you misread my post, but, as I refuse to take ridiculous, and often hasty shots at people on a internet message board I will refrain. Most likely you read my post as a derogatory statement about corvettes. This isn't what I meant. All it was, was an observation of the kind of people who, around my city, drive corvettes. In fact, I love the Z06's, and, before my dad decided to purchase a 2001 A6, was considering an 03 Cobra or 02 Z06. I would request that you read a bit more carefully before attempting to insult me...if not, then just go immerse yourself in another game of Sonic the hedgehog if you are so inclined.

Who cares about Lightnings or Cobras or Z06 'Vettes ? We all know that the fastest thing on the street is the new Dodge Hemi pickup
