What excitement did you expect dude, after all, this is the "community for late model Ford trucks". ~yawn~

If you want some real excitement own a Z06 and frequent the following hot spots:

Z06Vette.com
CovetteForum.com
CrossedFlags.com
C5Forum.com

I don't own a Z06, but I actually do own a Corvette: a 1966 with side pipes that you can hear a frickin country mile away, 4.11 posi, and a Hurst-shifted 4 speed. now THATS excitement. I was kinda trying to stay out of this discussion LOL seeing as I'm on both sides of the fence I love Lightnings, Corvettes and F-bodies...the only thing I don't like are those pesky Mopars

Sorry about the mix up on the car Ted. I should have known about the chromed wheels. Too many ZO6's to keep track of around here.

I had forget we ran side by side twice. This was your best of the day and my second worst besides that 17 second run when the boost bypass kicked in.

I have the video of you and the cobra.

I traded in the L for a Z06 too weeks ago.
If i were up to me i would have keep both.
This is my first non-ford product and is very quality product and pulls very strong. And there are not even words for the handling, just jaw dropping.
oh and i im getting 26+ mpg
I do miss the whine of the supercharger, and embarrasing people witha 5000 lb truck. IMHO - there is no better truck on the planet.
just my thoughts.

Okay, here is the video of 2002 ZO6 and 2003 cobra at the track Saturday.

Believe it or not, it is on video. His best run was a 12.11. My best was an 11.645. Same track, same day, my run was 3 hours later4° hotter and the track was in worse condition according to some.

for all of the haters, this is me spanking a quicker 2003 cobra same day same track

Nice run! Looks like the Z06 actually pulls the Cobra off the line, but then the snake catches it top end...very interesting, not what I would have expected at least. Those snakes are baaaaadd cars!

What the hell are you smoking?Clueless people like you make Lightning owners look stupid. A Z06 will run ATLEAST a low 12 given a good driver. Hell ,an idiot would have to try to get that thing to go high 12's. They are solid low 12 second cars at over 116mph. We have a locla with only an exhaust and E/T street going 12.18@112 at a 2700 ft altitude track .

Hey Moshe baby, I had a C5 vette with the 6 speed. The car makes big mph. It really starts moving on the big end of the track. I know stock 2002 & 03 (405HP Bull Crap) running 12.4 @ 116. If they got the bottle, x pipe, intake and a programmer, they will fly but will break the half-shafts and then some. I would still love to have a Z-06 in the garage.
Damn ,youre smoking the same ***** the other guy is huh? Break the half-shafts? First of a programmer doesnt to crap on our engines. Second ,youre going to need alot more power than that to break the half shafts. There are Z06's around with intake/headers/exhuast/150 shots running 10's all day on E/T streets without anything breaking.

Hey Kmanford,

The computer programming is just to have a nitrous program. As far as the half-shafts, with slicks and coming off the line with the juice that is the weakest link. No, the clutch is, my clutch started slipping after 15,000 miles. If the clutch is upgraded, the shafts will go. There is a guy down here that has a built up Z-06 motor, 150 shot and an upgraded clutch. He broke the shafts on his Z-06 twice. He's running something like 10.80's @ 130 or so.
