My brother has the Edge in his 04 Dodge Cummings (straight six!)

It was night and day with and without it installed. The pod he has looks real nice and fits tight. Sooooo many options on it! However, it's still a canned tune.

Is there a way for Troyer to program the Edge for a custom tune? Or is he proprietary to SCT's? No telling what ADDITIONAL power my brother could get out of it with a *custom* tune!

BTW, he bought his for about $750 on ebay....he said the MSRP was around $1100!

It seems to me a lot of money for the "looks" or cosmetic appeal of it. My Scanguage does a great deal but look absolutely worthless.

Honestly, you can get a Stage 1 Performace upgrade from Troyer for that price AND that includes a custom tune!

Southside download the calculator in my sig and enter your tire size. I display things in mm because I knew people would want to know for programmers.

Beowulf I would guess the price to be around 400-450 because that is what they charge for the 99-03 tuner.

Why?

I'd consider the canned tunes to be comparative to SuperChips off-the-shelf products ( e.g. 1714, 1745, etc) - good, but not custom & NOT the best.

You are paying for a lot of 'bling' and features - whereas you should be focussing on performance per dollar, and a feature set that supports that - as in datalogging. 'Bling' is nice, until you get wasted by someone with a proper performance custom tune.

Not to be obnoxious, but the Evolution does offer datalogging with the available software (free, I might add). It also has other feature. (See attached screen shots.) I'll have more picutres in my gallery soon, but duty calls and work needs to be done.

Datalogger:

HP Calculator:

Gear Calculator:

Splash Screen Utility (to change the bootup screen):

The unit is updatable/upgradable online.

Are there any plans to offer the A2 for the F-150?

To the best of my knowledge, the A2 will not be implemented on the F-150. The reason being that the A2 is designed to work with plug-in performance enhancers (such as the Juice) which do not directly reprogram the PCM but instead modify signals in-line. At some point Edge might implement software on the A2 which will allow it to reprogram any PCM, but I am not currently aware of any such plans.

Hope this helps.

ASE, Is the software on the tuner itself? Do I need to just plug it in to my computer via usb port? If so I'll do it right now.

Oh, here's a few more pics. Changed the backlight color to give you an idea of what it looks like. Also, notice the display is inverted (light characters, dark background). This was a prototype display and is currently NOT the one used in production. Anyway, here ya go.

Copper,

Sent you an e-mail with the installation link.

The software is fairly simple to install. Just run the setup, pre-install the USB drivers (BEFORE you plug the unit into the computer) and you should be good to go.

The software is still in BETA so it's not ready for public consumption yet. However, once released, the software doesn't require the unit to be attached to function, so the utilities such as the Gear calculator and HP calculator will available to everyone.

Enjoy.

The splash has to be a BMP, 128x64, black and white. I happen to already have one (it's what I use for the splash ) so I'll throw it in the photo gallery. I also happen to have one of the "Mudflap Girl" which is quite amusing.

On edit:

I can't load BMPs to the gallery so you'll have to get me your e-mail address and I'll send the ones I have to you.

Catch ya later.

Bill
