Two words- Video games.

 

I was running down I-20 a couple of years ago. A woman in front of me was inconsistent with her speed and weaving a bit in the center lane. I assumed she was drunk, and caustiously started around her. She had a hardback book propped open on the steering wheel.

 

I have to agree with many others i rarely text when i drive. Mostly only when im at a stop light or stop sign or some sort of stop. But if they ban texting in cars there should be many other things they ban. The right for people to eat in their car, because i have seen plenty of people paying more attention to their food or the stain the mustard just left than the rode. GPS's and navigation systems in vehicles, that includes everyones with the built in models. Ban phones in general for use in car. Other people texting and driving near me is not as scary to me as other things i have seen people be doing as the speed past me going down the hwy doing about 80 in a 65. My favorite, is the guys that you can tell are running late for work when im running 70 down the rode, and they pass me like im sitting still and they are shaving in their rear view mirror as they are swirving in and out of traffic.

 

Get it while you can brother, because after you've been married for 20 years, you'll know exactly what you're getting that night.

I text while I drive. I have a QWERTY keyboard and I know the layout of my phone. I don't really have to look at it. Changing the radio station is more of a distraction for me.

 

i text at stop lights real quick if i know im going to send a quick little response. when the trucks in motion i feel uncomfortable with textin ha

 

You mean dont turn it into a conversation about distracted driving?...

 

Man you must run really fast.....

 

I love how everyone is raising hell because some (like myself, when appropriate) text while driving, want the cops to give them tickets and smash their phone, when those very some cops are the one driving around with out a hands free radio. Oh and they also have friggin LAPTOP computers in thier cars. Com'on. I'm not saying the cops can't have this stuff, but you people cannot honestly say that the cops you want enforcing nw laws against this stuff arn't doing the exact same thing.

 

It was pretty heavy traffic and most everyone was doing about 70. That was the problem, she was doing about 60, 65, 60.

Ok, since this is true confessions behind the wheel...

I close my eyes when I fart.
I don't know why, just some reflex.
Anyway, I've been known to rip one for 8 to 12 seconds.

Depending on speed, I could easily cover a couple of blocks in that time.
I know, I know, dangerous as hell and no excuse for it.

I feel better just confessing it here.
Just don't suggest I pull over for everytime, if I did that I might as well walk everywhere.

 

Why do you close your eyes when you fart!?!? You afraid your eyeballs gonna pop out?

I have texted while driving...when the traffic comes to a complete stop. Here in Atlanta that happens often. I never text while running 70mph down the road. I've seen idiots do it time after time and 99% of the time they're wondering in and out of the lane, speed limit is up and down and always jamming their brakes on.
