This has my vote as the best post in this non-racial thread

You should just stop posting completely. Seriously, I think I lost a few IQ points on this last one.

The leading cause of traffic fatalities is?????????
ALCOHOL!

Its pretty hard for a crack head to afford a car.

Just ask your step family......

Um, no. If anything we are worse off than before.
Here is an analogy.

You are at camp when your friends get stung by bees. Everyone sees how upset they are and naturally are a little intimidated now by the buzzing of the bees. Your counselor (i.e. president Bush) stands up and tells the whole camp that he is going to fight every last bee until this camp ground is safe!
So he picks up his big stick and immediately begins to beat the hell out of the closest bee hive he can find.
The hive is destroyed and now he is surrounded by a bunch of pissed off bees..........

And this is the guy you want to believe is keeping you safe.

I'll pass.

In lieu of the 9/11, the smartest thing we could have done as a country 8 years ago was placed an immediate embargo on any goods from countries considered to be supportive of terrorist activities (middle east), given the Saudis the finger, opened our reserves and drilled our own soil, brought every last soldier home, closed our borders and reminded the world just how much they depend on our great country for survival. I garaun-damn-ty you that would have turned the world on its ear and dramatically shifted the type of behavior we support in regards to the global political scene. The second we diminish the dependencies and importance we continue to place on these idiots around the planet, the sooner we can disarm them.

Good job! That has got to be one of the most bone headed analogies I've heard.

Please take a lesson from your own words. "You should just stop posting completely. Seriously, I think I lost a few IQ points on this last one."

I know people have differing views (obviously) and in my opinion there are good ones on both side but you seem to like being a total ***** to people when they disagree with you. It's not even worth debating it with your type. Take some notes from Og; I disagree with damn near everything he says but at least he isn't rude to people.

Just messin with you man. I know it is hard to tell through the web, but seriously, no hard feelings. I guess my point was that we all have "opinions", lord knows I have plenty myself LOL, but if you think about the amount of money we spend on "wagging the dog" it's quite abhorrent. Yes my prickish humor gets to people, but rest assured it is all in good fun unlike the choices of our previous administration. I SUPPORTED THEM! I would rather have had all those things taken place covertly rather than wasting the talents and lives of our soldiers across the pond in that god forsaken place.

Drugs vs. Alcohol......again, just messing with you but the statement really isn't that qualified on your behalf. You have offered no justification other than your alleged personal experience, however statistics prove time and time again alcohol related deaths far exceed those of drug related deaths. The economics of it are very simple. Alcohol is much cheaper and available than "drugs". I merely retorted to your unqualified opinion in a prickish manner.
Now wipe your nose and reply

How about this instead?

You're in your backyard having a nice time with the family. One of your kids gets stung by a wasp, that's come over from a neighbor's yard. You've been asking the SOB for years to get rid of the damned hives growing all over his property, and he just won't do it. He even goes so far as tell you to kiss his ***.

Now you go to the cops and the HOA, and they tell you they're not going to do anything about it, and would prefer it if you didn't either, though they commiserate. You don't want your kids having to fear bees every time they step out the back door, so you go to said neighbor's, and take care of the little bastards yourself... And to hell with who doesn't like it.

Now lets say that your wife, who you've been on shaky ground with lately, decides she's embarrassed because the neighbors don't like the way you've handled the situation and starts trash talking you in public. This emboldens everyone against you, and even your kids are split and arguing on the issue.

Finally, she kicks you out and gets some guy to take your place. Someone who has promised to get along with the neighbors better. Now all you can do is watch your hard work squandered, and worry about what's going to happen to your kids.

That analogy could be expanded even further, I guess, but that should be enough to show the flaw in yours.

That analogy could be expanded even further,....ok, the bees came from Saudia Arabia and your baseball bat laid waste to Iraq.

Thanks, dexx. I'm glad we can agree to disagree with some intelligence.

You too, Shines. I had to take a little trip backwards after our past posts. I had to remember that you're here to test me, and I almost failed.

You know, it's hard to explain to people about days like today when the person you're talking to doesn't quite understand where you're coming from. Or where you've been.

I took a trip to the Civil Rights Museum in Memphis. It was my wife's idea. I really didn't want to go. But I'm glad she dragged me down there. It's amazing to see what people, black and white, had to endure so that they could just use a public restroom or take a sip of water without being beaten so bad, their family members couldn't recognize them. High pressure hoses, police dogs, bus fires, etc. It goes on and on. Those people made it possible so that I could sit here on this forum and voice my opinion, right or wrong. At the end on the tour of the museum, you see the actual spot where Dr. King was shot. The actual place where he lay dead and bled on the balcony of the hotel room where he stayed. The feeling that came over me was overwhelming. He died so all people could be treated equally. All people.
There were many people who fought for civil rights just as much as Dr. King. I guess that's what so many people, black and white, feel today. All those people in the mall in Washington, D.C. They say it was something never seen before. Maybe. Maybe not. Today was a release to a lot of people. The breath that has been held since the 50's and 60's was released. Does it have anything to do with Obama's knowledge to be president? Of course not. But it has everything to do with equality and freedom. Things that make America what it is. Do I expect everyone to feel the way I do? No way. But I sure feel inspired and no one is going to change that. - Og

Doesn't really work, but I see where you're going with it. I'd have to expand it to include something like a secret killer bee nest (Or explosive goat milk.) to represent the WMDs. The bees in my analogy should have been an obvious representation of radical Muslim extremists. Nice try though.
