X2,

I hope for the country's sake he does well but I have a bad feeling that won't be the case. Kinda need experience and not just skin color for that one. I don't like the man whatsoever but do respect his office but it stops there.

Basically lets just have a civil war then? This is your country just as it is mine. .... YOU will have success if Obama is successful, YOU will have failure if he fails. So basically yes if he is successful you will be too, if he fails you will too. He is YOUR president, He is MY president along with every other american citizen

Funny. That's the same way I felt about Bush. Hit the road, jack. - Og

You must be a conservative. I never heard a liberal say these words in support of GW. (Not even before things started getting bad.) I like Obama as a personality. I have grave doubts about his abilities to lead and his ideas. One thing in his favor, is that it can't get much worse. He could probably play basketball all day and look pretty good. Myself, I hope he does do a good job, and that my side is more supportive of their president than the opposition was of the last one... And every republican president for the las 40 years.

Maybe. I think Bush has him on the shoe ducking, though. He's pretty fast. - Og

Despite what you think about Bush you have to admit he has kept us safe. Lets hope Obama will do the same even if it will mean his popularity may go down.

i wont have failure if obama fails. i will work for my success. if the country fails and succeeds as one, why do we have people who don't have jobs? and people who are homeless? because THEY failed. not saying its all their faults. but if obama fails, he FAILED and so did his supporters, unless he cuts all jobs or takes 90% taxes or some stupid crap i wont fail due to him.

That's one of the most ignorant things I have ever read. I sincerely hope you meant something else and were just too stupid to express yourself accordingly.

He's been President for almost an hour.
So far, so good.

i was dead serious. you cut out part of it tho. "not saying its all their faults tho" is it my fault they don't have a job? no. is it theirs? partially yes. now i know some jobs are cut to save money and some peoples jobs just fall into the category they are cutting, but what about the people who just slack off and don't do things? its THEIR fault they dont have jobs. as for homeless, my friends gf's mom just moved in with them. you know why? because in the divorce her husband gave her the house which had 3 payments left on it and the car and she sold the house used it on alcohol and partying and now has nothing, dating a married man and she has nothing but her car now and lives with my friend. is it her fault? you bet your *** it is. maybe i should have said it in that much detail in my previous post.

Or the only significance would be that the white guy taking the office of the presidency would be someone other than Bush.

The American public has become fond of double standards. So on this day, as we celebrate a first in American history, which is quite significant, we embrace this double standard that we’ve created. In the coming days, weeks, months and years it’ll be the content of his character, and not the color of his skin, that will be significant. We’ll see if the roots of his character are of any significance.

Celebrate! Enjoy this day. It’ll never be repeated.
Wit, with all due respect, many people try to make points by using Dr. King's words. Many times they fail. This is one of those times.
I would like to know whose character are you basing your findings on? Show me a president that had/has upstanding character and I'll make a liar outta ya. - Og

Even with the sarcasm in your statement.........I actually agree with you. I think it's better to be safe than broke.
With all the new spending that's going to happen we're gonna be even more broke. Good times all around
