Good... So you understand that it's the station's decision whether or not to broadcast the inauguration?

I guess I don't see what's funny. If you think it's funny that the country station(s) in question refused to acknowledge the inauguration of the 44th President, well... I guess I wouldn't know how to react to that.

It is about the skin color. Do you honestly believe that back in 2007 a white, junior senator with very very little experience would go on to become the president in the next election? They would have laughed him out of the building.

I would believe it would NOT have been about skin color if he was actually a proven politician with experience and accomplishments that had ran for president. Sadly, he was not.

Being elected President of the United States is a HUGE accomplishment and I am proud to have him as my new President as I was the previous elected Presidents.

McCain did cheat on his wife with Cindy. And didn't she have cancer or something? What a role model. "Get out while the gettin's good." - Og

So then by your logic, Roosevelt = bad president ? Country was attacked under his leadership.

And every president since him was GREAT ? Weren't attacked by foreigners on our home soil until 9/11 . So, every single president, even good ole Nixon, was a great president in your eyes ?

Before Bush, we got attacked soooo often, glad he put a stop to it.

Racism runs strong in our country (just read this thread !) I feel it is a huge deal that a black man made president. Read through some of our old threads. Remember the hezbollah fist jab. I am sure the same things would be said if he was white.

Because he did make it, doesn't mean racism is gone. Don't be so foolish.

People saying he made pres. because he is black ?

ok, my 2 cents added.

Or the only significance would be that the white guy taking the office of the presidency would be someone other than Bush.

The American public has become fond of double standards. So on this day, as we celebrate a first in American history, which is quite significant, we embrace this double standard that we’ve created. In the coming days, weeks, months and years it’ll be the content of his character, and not the color of his skin, that will be significant. We’ll see if the roots of his character are of any significance.

Celebrate! Enjoy this day. It’ll never be repeated.
Boo hoo F---n Hoo!

Exactly. Its a hugeaccomplishment for Obama, but racism in my opinion will NEVER be gone.

And cory dude you better watch what your referring to when you go to compare rap music and country music. For one I can name one Multi-Million dollar rapper and I'm sure there has been numerous white rapers out there. And Living in a smaller city, where not many Black people are, there are PLENTY of white men who listen to Rap. Vise Versa, I know of a few Black Country Music stars, and I know of several black people who listen to country music. So for you to say Rap is a black man's music and country is a white man's music is very ridiculous. Your basically calling out the country music stations and saying they are racist..
