It's not about the color of a mans skin...
The fact is, it doesn't matter how a Hawaiian veiw themselves, Hawaii is still part of the United States of America. It would be the same as me saying since I'm from Indiana I am a Indianaian not an American. Hawaiin is their culture, but still American no matter how you look at it. With that being said in a American History textbook I had to purchase for school last semester, it claims nobody is an American. Everyone has a foriegn heritage.
The whole race thing played both sides, maybe more heavily on Obama's side, but it played to McCains favor as well. Regardless, black, white, red, yellow, green, blue, orange, etc. the mans skin color shouldn't, but does, have asn effect on society today. I'll be the first one to tell you, racism is the ideology of the ignorance. If you can't see a man for what he is, instead of being a black man or white man, then you have major sociological issues.

your a moron sir. I'm still offering you some advice. 6 ft of rope will do the trick!
Obama played the race card and got people to vote that would not have otherwise. I understand that is part of the "game" politicians play, but at the same time, he tells people we need to stop the games!!! WTF? His hypocrisy is why he didn't get my vote.
Even though I didn't vote based on race, I feel that millions did and those are the ones claiming some sort of victory. Black folk are happy to have a "black" president as if that is supposed to change the way they feel about themselves. Nobody can change the fact that slavery took place - in some countries, there are things much worse than slavery going on, and I been to a few of them!
Racism/prejudice/discrimination has always and will always exists as long as there is something that makes us different. After all, it's fuel for the fire to keep people moving. It motivates many and gives just cause for action to others. Politicians know this and so does the media. It seems that only those who fall victim to the stereotype hype are truly affected by it.

Thanks for the brilliant insight. I love how you broke down each thought I had to explain why you feel differently. You must be a highly educated and well traveled man.

There have been black Presidential candidates before. Why didn't any of them win?
Obama is an exceptionally well-spoken, motivational man, and in my opinion, that's exactly what this country needs. That's why he was elected. To suggest that people voted for him because they were duped by the media is insulting.

Because the black candidate that you are referring to was "Jesse Jackson"...
