We were fine where I am up in the Tomball area. I'll be looking at several homes down in Sienna later this week that were impacted -- that area being hit so hard was the biggest surprise to me since that development is so new and higher-end you would THINK they would have better water control infrastructure in place! But, when you get that much rain I guess everything involves a healthy dose of luck....
A lot of the new neighborhoods are built on top of where the old neighborhoods drain into
Took the ML for some brake work this AM to Midas. They came back saying it needed all 4 rotors, Pads and a Waterpump for 1800 bucks plus tax. Just made it sound like the best deal ever! Asked him to show me the rotors and they didnt look bad at all. ended up aftet the measurements fronts are 50 percent and rears are 60 percent. So yea. Got em from 1800 down to 88 bucks for pad replacement .
Will get Waterpump done somewhere else. Since they are using a oreillys pumps and charge 1.5x the cost.
Saw the ol 2013 today. Driving down the road glanced over and saw a 12th gen painted bumpers, stx sport grill and chrome wheels. Said that has to be my old one. Did a u turn in the road, cut through a parking lot to get in behind him. Truck looks like a old work truck now.
Bedcover off, nasty, bumper bent down and a big ol scrape down the left bedside. Its crazy how some can destroy a vehicle so quickly. It stayed on the ford lot for a month or so then got wholeselled to a buy here pay here lot. So the guy mayve had it a couple months.
Im surprised the ecobeast emblem stayed on the tailgate through 2 dealers
It's sad when you see an old vehicle that you put a ton of effort into, looking trashed. If he only new the potential it has with just a tune, lol. It would get to home depot real fast!

When I was contemplating selling my '09 Ranger a guy that came over to look at it said he liked the fact that it had vinyl floors since they were great for muddy boots! Suffice to say I was not impressed and pretty much made the decision right then and there that I was hanging on to the truck -- AIN'T NOBODY GETTING INTO MY TRUCK WITH MUDDY BOOTS.....
Gave Goldilocks some attention last week with a good hot bath! Almost 6K miles and running great...nudged a little over 19 mpg last week @55 mph but settled back down to the 17's. Not bad for a 8K pound truck. Have a few more camping trips planned when the weather gets a little cooler so she'll get a workout pulling the trailer.
I finally figured out why im keeping the cavalier, its a good ride for the dogs. Loaded up the Boston Terrier in the truck to take him to get his shots, got 3 blocks and he farted about 6 times and started drooling. Turned around parked truck and got the cavalier. Now the **** head can fart and drool as much as he wants
2 weeks from now will be in our Cabin at 9000 feet in
colorado enjoying vacation. Can't wait especially once we get there. Not really lookimg forward to the 750 miles
I actually think some bug deflectors look ok -- just not the old 70's versions that were nothing more than upright pieces of plexiglass in an aluminum frame!
Staying at a hotel near the NOLA airport tonight -- let's just say I'm apparently in the direct flight path with jets roaring about a hundred feet over my room all evening! Should be an interesting night of sleep.....
Figured get the bug deflector on the front then im taking it in amd getting the clear bra on the grill surround, headlight surround etc.
My OCD just wont allow the lines of a clear bra on fenders and hood and my wallet wont allow the whole hood and both fenders to be done either
That didnt last long. Its sitting back at oreillys. Everything looked fine until i got to the part of attaching metal clamps on the front corners of the hood. They give a small piece of clear tape to "protect" the paint. I figure after a few thousand miles of vibration the metal will wear through the tape and start on the paint. Next!
