Ug! I thought all you needed was title and green sheet from the inspection?

Went to a dealership last night for an oil change and while there looked at a Ranger. Loaded FX4 Lariat. Sticker price was $46,000. Gave me a little sticker shock.

I had the same reaction - nice little truck but holy cripes they’re proud of them! And from what I’ve heard they’re actually selling well.....???

My bud that owns a Ford dealership has 2 of them on the lot. He's only sold 2 so far but he's also asking $5,000. OVER MSRP. That's the number on his Rangers windshield. He made the mistake of not taking the link down where you can pull up the invoice/window sticker on Fords website. Yeah, his are the XLT and Lariats that he's gotten in. No base trucks yet. I've yet to see one on the road. Other dealers around here have a few but you have some that are asking over MSRP and one that's selling at MSRP. But none seem to be moving many of them as the ones they started with are still on the websites. You can buy a reasonably optioned STX for about 10 grand less. Kinda stupid to consider a Ranger that doesn't get any better fuel mileage.

I’ve only seen one on the road so far - size wise, I actually like them better than an F-150 for everyday driving, but no way I’d pay sticker or above for that kind of vehicle. Wait a year or two and they will be priced more competitively - I might even consider one as my wife’s new vehicle in place of the new Escape that she has her eyes on....
