Let's start over......
Got two of my "babies" out for short (20-mile) runs today -- the Ranger and the LTD have their tags due in June so I ran them up to temperature and then took them in for their safety and emission tests.
Put about 250 miles on both of them over the past year. I really wish I could have kept the last year of mileage off the Ranger when it was my full time daily driver -- that would make it about a 22,000-mile truck instead of a 37,000-mile truck.....

I couldn't do that. Granted I don't put a lot of miles on the truck anymore but I love driving it. Took it out for a great drive yesterday. Easy 60-70 miles. I have the mindset of babying it, but enjoying = driving. Not sitting. If it's nice out, it's out every weekend.

My dilemma is the fact that I am at the stage of life where huge chunks of my time are already spoken for -- job, kid, wife. I always tell my wife that when I get to the point in life where I'm not required to engage in "full contact parenting" anymore I am going to be like the kenneled lab who is finally let loose at the park.....
Hey Coy, is that the same wax job you did back in January? How good is the Chem Guy stuff about lasting? My White Screw needs some TLC as soon as the sun is born again. Either that or I'm buying a boat to deal with the endless rain this year.
In a perfect world, I would be putting more miles on my "non daily driver" vehicles -- my goal was always to put around 500 miles per year on each. Spread across (4) vehicles that would work out to 2000 miles per year, which I think is a pretty reasonable balance between enjoyment and preservation.

Man, everybody has been taking their "babies" out for a spin. What a coincidence, I also drove my truck yesterday. No clue how many miles I put on it. I'm almost up to 59k though! Drove through rain, down some dirt roads (before and after the rain), and then when I wasn't driving it, it sat outside in the sun all day. But I still consider it my baby
Oh, and it still smells like collard greens. Not quite as bad as vomit though

It lasted a few months.
What I do is get the BlackFire Combo which is called fire over ice. It's the black fire sealant along with the blackfire pure carnauba and it lasts around 6 to 9 months before needing anything done. It's around 65 bucks for the combo but definitely worth it.
To help the blackfire last for the whole year I add my Chemical Guy's every 3 months or so and that gets me to my next yearly correction.
I'd recommend the CG Butter Wax or the Newer Chemical guys Extreme Depth + Xseal
Kind of a laid-back day. Started out by going to the park with the boy to toss the football around and then hit Chick-Fil-A for lunch. Stopped at the grocery store on the way home and then putzed around in the garage with the Ranger a bit this afternoon detailing the engine bay and one of the front wheel wells. Waiting for the wife right now to finish an errand and then we are going to head down to our town center to let the kid run around the splash pad for a bit and burn off some energy! Tomorrow it's back to work and school as usual.....
