I hope all is well with you guys. In addition to the new job last month, I got engaged a few days ago after nearly 6 years together.

The truck is running well. I just took it on a trip to St. Augustine for the week. It's been quite awhile since I've done any mods to it, so I'm starting to feel the itch again! It's good to see the usuals still active. I've got my password sorted out with the mobile app now, so I should be able to hang out regularly again. Where else am I going to find out the weather for the day in other parts of the country?
Glad to hear from you stranger!!

Congrats on the new position at work and also on the engagement..I guess 6 yrs is long enough before getting engaged.

I put the quad in the bed of the truck and went riding this morning. The winch put a nice dent in the bulk head Might have to go trade it in now

Thank you kindly! It's been too long since I've checked in!

Yeah I had to go ahead and buy the ring before she came to her senses

Need some advice. Next Weekend we are headed from Waco to ThackerVille OK @ Winstar Casino. Would 35 West through fort worth or 35 E Through Dallas, Carrollton, to Denton be best? I have heard construction on 35 has made it bad. Just not sure which part of 35.

35 thru Ft Worth is horrible on the north side of Ft Worth. Even at that I would choose it over Dallas.

Alright gents, I need some opinions. I'm going to upgrade my tires. I'm ready for a change from the terra grapplers. The tread is boring to me, and my dad needs some new tires so he's going to buy them from me. Inspired by Chris's FX4, I've decided to go ahead and move up to 315/70R17, which is the OEM size for the Raptor (I've got the wheels, so I might as well). I have the Bilsteins, so I know the size will clear just fine, I'm just in a pickle about which tire to go with. I like the BFG KO2, especially with the new aggressive sidewall design. And if they're good enough for the Raptor from the factory, they're good enough for me. However, I've always thought the BFGs seemed dated, and I want something unique. Tired of the Nittos, Cooper AT3s are boring to me, and I've had the Toyos before. I liked them, but I thought I might get something different than I've already had before. I don't want a mud tire, because most of my driving is on pavement. So you can see my predicament. The other day I discovered Pro Comp has released a brand new all-terrain, the Pro Comp A/T Sport, and it looks pretty cool.

This one is tempting. Pro Comp is a highly regarded company, but these are brand new so there are hardly any reviews. What a headache!! What do you guys think?

Only other one i can think of is the Toyo Open Country. If i was going that route i think id do the BFG. Seems to get great reviews with the new design

What time of day? They sometimes do overnight weekend closures on 35E

You could always swing by if you needed something if you came up 35E. It's only about 1.5 miles from my house.

The first Raptor BFG's were the TA/KO's 315x70x17 and a D rated tire. The new KO's in the 315 size are E rated and may ride a little rougher. ProComp tires in the last few years have sort of taken a drop in popularity on the different sites compared to BFG..Toyo..Nitto and Coopers. I had one set of Pro Comp AT's and only used them for spares..did not put enough miles on them to make a judgement. I did run some 315x70x17 TA/KO BFG's on my '04 Lariat and were quite pleased with them. From what I hear from my son in law the KO2's are even better. Your Raptor wheels have the ideal specs to run such a large tire to eliminate rubbing in the front no matter which tire you chose. Personally I would go with the BFG's. Good luck with your decision.

Here's my '04 with the 315's on 17x8 wheels with 5.5 inches of backspacing. No rubbing with these wheels.

About 90% of the time 35W through Fort Worth is pure hell -- especially when you get up on the north side of 820, so I would avoid it at all costs! Not saying 35E through Dallas is any charmer, but it's WAY better than the Fort Worth side......
