I think you can see everything I circled and what not lol. The resonator just acts as a way to reduce the sound more which is why some people take them out if they want a little more sound out of their exhausts.

Wow that's so weird my 09 didn't have one of those on it. But now that I know what your talking about I would have taken it off but in a way that it could be reinstalled it if it was to loud in the cab.

Well unless I miss my guess I believe it is because the new engines came out in 2011 and the 5.0 gets it. not sure if the 6.2 gets it as well. you have the 5.4L right?

Yes that is correct 5.4 here but with the 6.2 for the fx4 in 2013 I'm thinking of ordering one soon in the ruby red.

LOL yeah I say considering because until I sit down with a salesman and see what the price is after my D plan discount then that would be the deciding factor. There is nothing wrong with my 09 other then I would really like the 6.2. I have 82k on it and has only been in for a few repairs all which have been covered so no complaints here.

Thanks
I love the sound no drone at highway speeds,70-80, and I wish I could find a better device to record the sound because it sounds so much better in person then in the vids and Im willing to bet its the same for everyone on here. Might try my camcorder to see if it had better sound quality the vids here were done with my Iphone.

Yeah vids online don't do a majority of systems hear justiice. When I started my Corsa in the garage in the morning it rattled the plates in the kitchen. In the videos I have though, you definitely lose some of the "oomph".

Hey, from what i read on the other f150 forum You can use the 2009-10 pipe that will replace the whole section that includes the resonator and it will delete it because the 2009-10 didnt have resonators up front. So if I delete mine on my borla stinger setup that is what I probably will do. They said the pipe for the 2009-10 will connect right up. Just have to determine your wheel base. My supercab is 145". The thread was titled 2011 resonator delete solution.

Well hold on, unless I misunderstood that statement I do not think what you are saying will work or rather, be the best solution to deleting the resonator. I was looking and there is a band clamp leading to the muffler from the resonator and a flange clamp before the resonator and I believe that the diameter for the resonator piping is 2.5/2.75 inches whereas the piping diameter widens to 3in before and after the resonator. The 5.4L in the 9s and 10s uses a different diameter piping then the 3in(11's+) (Arklight maybe you can confirm this? or anyone else for that matter?) so I am not too sure if that will work or offer the best performance as it might be more restrictive. Then there is the flange clamp which you would have to address to just clamp in the system. Unless you weld the piping in place of the resonator.

Unfortunately I do not think the pics I took show the flange clamp at the front of the resonator towards the cab. This pic best illustrates the clamps and the diameter change.

What I am planning on doing for my borla is getting a 3in diameter si/so muffler, a 5 foot piece of 3in 409 stainless steel piping and a flange clamp. I will have the flange welded to 1 end of the piping, and cut the other end down to fit the factory system and recycle the factory clamp. I think that is the best way to remove the muffler without damaging the factory setup so if I ever sell the truck or something happens to it I can swap in the factory setup That should work I plan on doing it myself with my bro's help it will just be measuring the difference correctly and making sure that the muffler gets mounted as far back as possible.
