Look at what she's saying here. She's pointing out that PHP will no longer SELL to new customers, a "known", faulty product. However, they will continue to support people who HAVE bought this product in the past. How many companies do you know of that will work with their customers this way?

I honestly cannot think of a company I'd rather do business with.

Very well put, Jack. Having been around here for quite some time now, it's become VERY evident to me that some people just aren't happy unless they're thread crapping. It's really that simple.

"Thread crapping"? Ha! Let me jot that one down for future reference.

THREAD CRAPPING! How perfect! It's even better than FORUM FACTS, which is my term for misnomers that have become "truth" simply because someone read it on a forum and decided to spread the word.

For anyone who has been planning to get a Gryphon for a '97-'03 F-150, please let me say something. It is apparent that we have disappointed some of you, and I apologize for that. IF we get word from Edge that the cable problem has been eliminated, we will be happy to add the 97-03 F-150 back to our product line, but please know that I don't know when this might happen.

In the meantime, we will continue to offer the SCT X3 for this vehicle, and I found out recently that our switch-on-the-fly Phoenix chip will also work on the 97-03s! (No, it isn't available for the 04-08s!)

Please feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns.

I myself have bought an X3 from Troyer but have read enough of the posts on this forum to acknowledge a good company when I see one. Reading the posts from owners of Bills items and from Groovy chicks responses, they also seem like a very personable company with the customers best interest in mind.

We are working with Edge to isolate the problem to a certain lot number(s). As soon as the problem is remedied, we'll be pleased to offer the 97-03 F-150 Gryphon to our customers. I'll keep everyone up to date as information becomes available.

Groovy Chick -
If a person already has a stock edge programmer and cable that is working flawlessly on a 2001 F-150 - will you guys convert it to a gryphon?? The cable I have is working just fine - just curious.....thanks.

Custom tunes are the difference. Do you want a tune written for you and your truck, or do you want a tune written for everyone else's truck?

The custom tunes in my truck give me just a little more power but the shifting and downshifting characteristics alone are worth the price. Plus, I have an 87 Perf tune that I run nearly all the time as opposed to running level 3 and paying for 93 octane.

Is it just the cable or the connector on the device it self?

If its just the cable it cant be that hard for me to find one.
