You have a good point there!

But I think most of these guys want the adaptability(ie:tire size, gear, and shifting+more) and gauges the gryphon has to offer.

Php is offering this as an option. I'd probably be running it and the scangauge if I still had my 03.

In the case of the Evo/Gryphon, I really think it's the gauges that sway customers, i.r.s. We've been selling a few chips to our '97-'03 customers lately. As more are sold, hopefully, there will be more posts about them.

Maybe one of the guys from PHP will reply to me here since I sent in an e-mail almost a week ago and never got a reply......

I interested in purchasing Gryphon with 1 custom tune and the vehicle I have is a 05 5.4 F-150 that is running Brisk Plugs, K&N CAI with a true dual exhaust. When I do to your order form it ask many questions I’m unfamiliar with such as:

Modified MAF Meter?
Modified Injectors?
H/X Crossover Pipe?

I’m assuming most of this would be no and the only thing I would need to worry about is providing the exhaust measurements and CAI info? The reason I’m looking for a custom tune is ford told me I was running lean due to my CAI and someone on F150 forums.com told me getting a custom tuned would be best. Can you confirm and provide any more information I might need to know prior to ordering?
I'm not a super mechanic, I know a little, but was confused on a few questions.

We have about 5-10 cables sitting here that have to go back to Edge to be replaced -- these have come from our customers. If any of them read this thread, please take a minute to explain what happened with the cable in your particular situation so that other members will have info straight from you!
I do not own a Gryphone. I have the Evo and have experienced the above problems, including cable failure during programming.

I had problems with the data stream cutting out intermittently for months as well as getting readings that were grossly incorrect. For example, I had Intake Air Temps at 980*, Cylinder Head Temps at -1100*. My programmer even refused to recognize my VIN for a period, stating that the programmer had been VIN locked to another vehicle.

After updating the programmer and speaking with Edge, I finally got around to sending in my unit for repair. Edge replaced both the unit and the cable. Then, the day after installation I embarked on a 200 mile trip. During the last 10 miles, the programmer turned off and would not come back on. After unplugging and plugging in the cable (something that would serve as a temporary solution), the programmer would not initialize. That was three weeks ago. Today, I got the programmer to start up and provide data readings.

Then...I started having trouble again with incorrect data and the monitor cutting out and turning back on in rapid succession.

I guess it is time to call Edge again.

I really hope I don't have these problems with my evo. It's brand new (thank you again to 02bluefX4) so hopefully it'll treat me well and I won't have to start smoking as a result of it. haha

I apologize for not replying to your e-mail if it was sent to me. We're almost at the point of hiring someone just to answer e-mails because we get about 100/day! Regarding the things you mentioned that are on the form, please know that we've included just about every mod we could think of to put on the form so customers with those mods could just check them off. If you haven't made those modifications, just ignore them, but be sure to tell us about any modifications that you DO have.

It is very possible that you are running lean if you have a CAI, and custom tunes can help. Your true dual will also require custom tuning. If you order, you'll see on your invoice that we suggest driving in Level 2 while you are waiting for your custom tunes. Level 2 is a tow tune, and by its nature, it tends to run richer.

Please let me know if you have any other questions.

I am so sorry about your problems. We haven't heard back from Edge as to whether the issue was fixed or not, but it looks like we have our answer. Please let us know what you find out!

are you running true duals with long tube headers?or have you gone true dual after the second set of o2 sensors?-if everything was untouched in the exhaust upstream from the second set of o2 sensors, the tune for a stock exhaust vs your exhaust doesnt deem custom tuning necesarry

I am not to happy with PHP , First off you cant get ahold of anyone when you need them , Second they always have an excuse why they cant reply
or why it takes them so long to get a product out .

When I want to speak to somone , I want to pickup the phone and call them
not hear do to the work load we dont answer the phones on these days , please email us with you questions , lol yeah I can do that when Im traveling and my custom tune is giving me trouble .

If you guys are so fricken busy maybe you need to hire somone .

I Sent in my edge to get a custom tune , It took forever to get back always an excuse or no reply , when I got it back I installed and off I went on a 7 hr drive I got 3 hrs away my truck started acting up I had to pull over , so I called tech support ( GUESS WHAT NO ANSWER ) so I email them on my blackberry and wait and wait nothing , so I restore the factory settings and off I go runs great ,

I stop to get a bite to eat threw the drive threw and I get an email asking me to email back my problems and they will look it over , lol I email asking them to pickup the phone so I can talk to them instead of typing on this blackberry , I get a reply please email us so we can work on the problem , back and forth we go there not going to answer the phone .

Problem solved I ripped the pod off the dash and threw the worthless programmer in the trash , Maybe some other poor sole will find it at Mc Donalds and have the nightmare I had .

PHP CUSTOMER SERVICE AND TURN AROUND TIME STINKS
