I have a windshield cover as well and it does wonder. I from Corpus Christi, TX and dont have any problems with the tunner fading out at all, but I keep the shade on the truck full time. It will save your dash from fading out as well. No matter how stupid it looks its still better than burning your hands or butt when you get in the truck.

 

Has anybody else had problems when it comes to the custom options screen? I'm gonna email Roberto about it in a few and see what we can do to fix this.

 

I have a production model. When I go into the custom menu it doesn't recognize my factory gears or tires. It says I have 3.31 gears and 2235 tires and I should have 3.73 and 2521 for tires. Those are the only 2 options I have messed with though.

 

i believe the tire option is screwed. i had to manually set my speedo manipulating the gear ratio to odd numbers and matching it via GPS . . . kind of what i warned everyone who wanted to buy units immediately

i sent rob an email and he says their calibration engineer is on it

 

Ok guys to say i am pissed right now would be an understatement.....After 2-3 weeks I finally got my edge back today. Hooked it up to the truck and it started to download the "stock" tune to the truck. Unit said complete and I unplugged it. Just tried to start the truck and nothing, it just cranks, it is not getting any fuel. I checked the fuses and the fuel cut off switch and everything is fine. HOW CAN THE STOCK TUNE MESS UP THE TRUCK!!!!!!!!?????? To top it all off I tried to call Rob and tech support and of course no answer. How the hell am I supposed to get to work tomorrow???? So i figured I would try to load the lighting software and update the edge and then load that program and see if I could get the truck to start, the software doesn't even recognize the edge. I tried all the USB ports and I tried to reinstall the software. Anyone have any ideas??? Please help.........

 

Try to upload the stock tune again. Disconnect and reconnect the battery. Search for other causes of the "no start". What do you mean by "the software doesn't recognize the edge"?

 

Tried it all already chester, the Lighting software is not recognizing the edge on my computer, Windows XP recognizes it but the program does not. I did happen to notice that the thft light is blinking rapidly when trying to start it. That indicates to me a problem with the PCM, or PATS system. Going to try some tricks I searched the forum on, but my worst fear now is that the edge f'ed up my PCM.


Update: Tried a trick of flashing the dtc codes to see if that would help,it didn't.

Sounds like he sent you the wrong stock writer! You better be thinking about how to get to work in the morning.

 

That's what's really pissing me off!!! I tried on numerous occasions to get a hold of Rob and double check that everything was correct. I really hope that's all it is and that it just needs to be "re-re-flashed" with the correct stock program. How much is cab fare these days.....

I'm sure at some point I'll sit back and laugh at this, but right now at 11:30 PM i'm sitting here realizing I am supposed to meet the CEO of my new company for the first time tomorrow morning.....Maybe I'll just start walking to work now......

So these are still in beta? Well I guess that explains why mine didn't work when I tried to use it today. I talked to their tech support and they are going to overnight a new one to me. I went through this entire thread and it seems that I have the same problem as several of the beta testers where it will not let me upload the tunes.

 

ummmmmmmmm so what do I do. I got my edge back yesterday from rob and was all excited and I am literaly scared to plug it in now.

My advice would be to triple verify that the correct stock program was input to your controller, that's about the only explination I have right now as to why mine is not working, it must have gotten the wrong code, I'm just hoping by inputing the wrong code it didn't fry something else like the PATS. I'm going to try calling Rob right now and see what happens.

 

This is normal, mine did the same thing. It won't recognze it until you're able to download the new software and put the ID key in. You'll have to contact Edge for the key.

 

Where is the "new" software download? Special link?
