I tried disconnecting all other USBs and tried the other USB ports too..and still nothing. I don't see how it can be a USB issue though, because when I connect the unit it makes that sound, letting you know that something is connected.

Also, I raised the shift firmness 5 between each gear. Is anyone running more than that?
I am currently running a shift firmness of 10 between each gear.

I think level 2 is a fairly mild tune, as they say you can run 87 octane with it. Increase it until it pings, then back it off. Just remember that increased loads can increase the chance of detonation, so don't take it to the edge (no pun intended) if you are going to be towing or hauling.

To me it is a great improvement over stock! The 1-2 shift is definitely a lot firmer. I may increase the others more. You will be able to tell the difference, but the shifts aren't firm enough to feel like the truck is slamming into gear. My girlfriend noticed a difference, so if she noticed it I know it made a huge difference.

Now, how do we get the custom tunes? Or do we still need another update for that?

Other USB "software" could also cause a conflict.

All USB ports on a PC are not created equal. Certain devices might only work with a certain USB ports. I know it is hard to believe but it is true. The USB ports directly wired to the motherboard, that is native to the hardware itself are the ones I would try. Some PC's with multiple USB ports actual have a internal hub to allow more USB ports say to the front of the case and more on the rear of the case.

How about another PC ?

I've got bigger tires, but not anywhere near the size of yours.

zaairman hvae you been able to confirm your readings with a GPS? it seems that no matter if you set your circumference to lower or higher than the magic number, it still reads your speedo faster (EX - me going 70 at 2000 rpms as verified by friend's GPS a while ago; setting edge for low and high circumference and still having it read 75 mph at 2000 rpms regardless of setting high and low . . . [intuitively, setting a higher tire number lowers the speedo reading and setting a lower tire number increases the false speedo reading])

aghhhhh. techs also told me we are still in beta and distributors, while they are supplied, arent authorized for sale . . . and they are still selling . . wtf over

Haven't confirmed anything yet...and my Edge doesn't have the custom tuning options...how do we get those? And my speedo reads 72 MPH at 2000 RPM.

Just tune it again and you should be prompted for custom options. It took me a little to figure it out.

yup

just go back into level 3 or whatever you picked and ask it to tune, then itll ask you if you want to edit custom programming options

i really hate it because it has to completely redo the programming. probably because thats the way the PCM needs to be edited f

Thumbs up Edge Tech Support is Excellent and do I need a key?

Want everybody to know that I finally got mine to work. It is working great, but I am taking it slow. Still in stock tune and just fiddling around with the display capabilities and trying to see what my truck does stock before I try the other tunes.

If you remember my other posts, mine would not finish the initialization process. Never had even once, before or after we sent back to Rob. I talked to regular tech support and they determined my unit was faulty and sent me a replacement, took my credit card info for security in the event I do not send the failed one back.

Also want everybody to know that in my opinion Edge tech support is excellent. Especially considering my unit was a beta unit, and they sent the replacement with no questions asked other than what it was doing wrong. And they sent it next day air.

Now for my question:
Lost Pup and others, do I need a key and what would I do with it if I had it? I never lost my stock tune, and I assume the key would give me the ability to enter a mode that would allow me to restore the stock tune if I had lost it?

Thanks in advance for the help.

Randy
