Troyer vs. competition
Its certainly not your fault, Kippy. You simply wanted some information on tuning the computer in your vehicle, and wanted some comparison facts. Now I do not have a Troyer Tune so I cant give you personal opinions, but just do a little research on this particular forum and you will quickly find that there is a large die hard group of TP owners that are more than happy with their purchase, and will fight to the death to defend it. It does appear to be the best tuner for overall performance from what I have read. I went with an "inferior" off the shelf Superchip 1745 tuner, and I have a very positive review on it. If you want more information about this particular tuner and how it greatly increased my truck's performance, we can exchange email addresses and discuss it.
Thanks.
Yeah was just hoping for someone to say I have a Troyer tuned truck and my buddy has a identical truck with X programmer and I pull him by several trucks everytime we have ever lined up. Or even better yet, I have 35" tires on my truck and pull my buddies stock tired truck.......that would be even cooler.........LOL.
Anything that compares.....not just what your butt tells you.

Ok kippy Real World racing. (note) not a proFirst vehicle I had 04screw lariat 2wd 1714 sct programmer, drop in kN only, magnaflow exhaust. Sct set at 91octane. My buddy Has a 04screw lariat but in 4wd 1714 sct and magnaflow. I would beat him only by half of a truck. Weight difference.
Second vehicle 05screw lariat 4WD XCAL2 93octane set, drop in kn only. Now I beat my buddy over a truck length. He can't believe How bad I beat him now
with a heavier truck.
Also this is quarter mile racing. Just some country boys racing on back louisiana drag strip.
I also can beat my buddy with 04gmc 4dr z71 5.3 with sct 91oct, aem cai. I beat him about a truck length. I take him off the start but he does gain on me about half way but the ole f150 just keeps pulling to hard for him.
I also should note the is a xcal2 with troyer tunes and 3.73 rear end. I hope this helps.

Still won't work. Every single truck is different.
From the way it is taken care of, to the gasoline, to the milage, and on and on.
Hell, even if you could get two absolutely identical trucks, the drivers are not the same, and thats enough right there to kill any comparison.
The best thing to do is research, here and anywhere else you can find.
Draw your own conclusions, its your money and your call.
The reason why so many are up on Troyer tuning here, is because they all have had troyer tuning done with great results.

this thread should be closed.
you basically have 2 maybe 3 people that are opposing and they simply are throwing ideas and are for the most part, are not being negative.
i think questioning is they way to answers and for anyone on the fence, seeing a post like this with 90 - 95% of the people giving personal experience and how happy they are (notice that no one who has a TP product is complaining) is nothing but a positive effect.
i dont need to stroke my ego about my guy is better than yours, i do get get a kick out of comparing personal experience and someone playing devil advocate about what may or may not be better.
