Krown Rust Proofing

Just wondering what people think about getting Krown rust proofing done. It is $129 a year. It seems like it is a top notch product and I have a local dealer that does it. We get lots of snow where I live so salt is a huge problem here. Just wondering if it is worth the money or not. Or if there is possibly a better option out there

If I may ask, what is the local dealer in Erie area that does it and how good of a reputation do they have at it?

I'm wanting to POR-15 my frame this summer, and then have Krown followed up everywhere else.

Great idea darren. POR 15 is great stuff. I've not used but friends have and rave about it. Looks sharp too.

If the shop's rep is not great consider buying krown or fluid film and spray it yourself through an air gun, the rattle cans are way over priced. Both great products. Fluid film has grown quite pricey up here the last few years unfortunately. Krown I think is about $20/gallon cheaper.

Yeah I want to get my frame cleaned up. It is horribly pitted. The under body paneling is alright oddly, but the frame looks like its 10+ years old. Previous owner must not have took it to the car wash much in its inital few winter seasons.

That sounds pretty interesting. I have a compressor pump, wonder how many gallons it could possibly take to get this job done. Got lots of time to plot and prepare.

Krown is great but not perfect- no product is. I think its worth it- especially on a new vehicle.

I've had mine done every 2-3 yrs since new, keeps the truck nice under there. Worth it to me, especially the Krown because it really does creep into small spots nice. A bit messy on the driveway but it never seems to stain for long.

It get's expensive if you do it yearly but you maintain krowns guarantee. I really think the first couple of years is crucial for getting a decent layer on, and then from there every other year at the most. Diminishing returns - I probably wouldn't do an application after about year 10 or 12 in anticipation of keeping my truck for 15 years or so.
