Yup, have had it in several of my vehicles over the years. Works great...similiar to RustCheck & Corrosion Free.

Here is a good article on these types of applications.

http://autos.sympatico.ca/advice-gui...ct-and-fiction

In all of the processes they suggest drilling holes in certain areas of the interior panels to get the product into isolated crevices. I was never fussy about the drilling so opted not to have the drilling part done.

Been checking out these services myself and none are near me. I have been using WD40 in all the drain holes and wheel wells since my truck was new. So far so good.

Not sure where you are in Illinois, but some of the Zeibart's do rust proofing. Don't know if how they do it and what they use would be similar to Krown though.

Right now I'm using Fluid Film since Krown and RustCheck are very limited in the states.

Zeibart is a thick one time coating. Its not like the oily products that Krown uses that are supposed to creep into the seams.

GTXKen,

Krown is a good product, if applied correctly. My problem was with the hit and miss application by the local vendor. I did not want to go back to Ziebart, because their product traps moisture.

On my new truck, I used a local guy who uses a product made by Rust Authority. It is heavier than Krown, still displaces water and creeps. The guy did a really good job of applying it. I had it sprayed under my plastic bed liner too.

I would recommend the drilling to get into hidden cavities.

Hopefully I made the right choice.

Take Care

I'm having Zeibart do rustproofing, underbody sound deadener, and fabric protection for $470

Back n da day (60's-70's) if'n you lived in the rust belt and didn't get your vehicle rust-proofed by Zeibart, in 4 years you'd be driving a ride et up by rust.

Last vehicle I had Zeibart(ed) was my 1978 E-150 and it still got et up.

I haven't had a vehicle rust-proofed since then mostly because in the '90's vast improvements have been made in the factory prep and I've haven't had a vehicle rust out since then.

I usually keep my vehicles for @ 10 years and rust doesn't seem to be a problem anymore.

Take a road trip up to Windsor Canada and get the krown done, you won't regret it.
Much more to krown than just spraying the metal, they remove lights, harnesses and spray them down, they never get brittle from the cold and salt. They drill holes in the jambs and put the wand inside to get a nice coating. 20+ yrs of using it and the family vehicles never rust.

Lots of Krown info on the site already partner, just type krown into the search box.

One thing for sure take advice from the guys on here who live in Canada who have real world experience with rust, not our friends from deep in the south where rust is not nearly the issue it is up here.

According to the Republicans, you Canadians are dropping like flies cuz of your socialized health care.

Any truth to that??

And somebody else said your new Canadian $'s bills made of plastic, melt in direct sunshine. Sorta reminiscent of the old 45 and 33 LP vinyl records.

Any truth to that??

Best rust proofing is a winter beater, and NEVER driving your new truck on the salted roads.

No. People are treated in order of need, not by the depth of their pockets. Those with deep pockets take their private jets south of the border and pay like the locals do.

Part truth, yes they are plastic, but do not melt in the sun. As of yet only 50's and 100's are the new bills. I don't get many of those in my jeans.
