I agree 100% and I have one but sometimes I still end up driving my truck once in a while and I know a winter beater isn't an option for everyone.

Hey GTXKen I use Krown all the time...but I think it's just a pretty typical creeping rust treatment that should compare to anything you have available locally. In my experience, it seems to wash off the under carriage and wheel wells etc. within about 4 - 6 months, so yearly applications are needed. Prices are on their website. You can also buy cans of the product for touch ups between treatments. If' you've never treated your truck with anything I would go as soon as you can, but otherwise at this point I'd wait till spring.
Have you entered your zip in the locator on the Krown website? There are a bunch in the US, nearest to you might be Ohio, but like I said, I'm not sure it's worth the drive...

Yeah I looked at the web site. Just trying to see if its worth the drive. My truck hasn't seen much winter weather yet because I do have a beater (not so much but its a winter car). I'd love to keep my truck forever if I could keep it from rusting. I like the fact that you apply it yearly, seems to make sense considering the type of product it is. I'd just love to see a car that has used it long term.

Thanks

So I drove 200 miles to the nearest Krown dealer in Versailles, Ohio yesterday. Great guy and did a great job spraying my truck, he let me stay in the bay with him so I could watch. The stuff they apply is really nice stuff, I am thinking about making the trip with my car next week.

Good to hear you had that done Ken. Did they take apart the lights and spray the wiring harnesses? Stick the wands in every hole? Even if you only did it once I think there is a benefit. I had mine done (3rd spray since 2009) about 3 weeks ago and it's still dripping just a tad. I will probaby skip next year and possibly the next year as well - diminishing returns IMO. My father had his van sprayed a few years in a row when new (1997 venture) and then started skipping years and then near year 10 I think was about the last spray. He had it for over 13 yrs and really no rust to speak of which is unbelievable considering where we live and the amount of salt that gets dumped.

They pulled the tail lights and ran the longest nozzle all the way to the front of the bed. Sprayed inside the tail gate, drilled holes and sprayed in the rockers and doors. Under the hood all the wiring was sprayed, the inner panels and inside the hood. The guy was really thorough. It was worth the drive, I will be back. The guy who sprayed mine even said he would suggest going two years in a row and then going every two years.

How is everyone's experiences with your dealers when they wash off the overspray? They pulled my truck into some dump truck washing bay and started scrubbing my paint with these long hand brushes with dirty looking bristles. Don't know how stiff those bristles are either but I was not happy with that. Probably scratched my paint some. This dealer is in West Middlesex, PA.

My dealer washed it off using a wash mit and hot water power washer.

They used a power washer for the most part on mine. Also used a wash mitt on a pole that didn't appear that clean but I've never left with scratches or swirls. The mitt may just appear dirty because it has the krown product stained on it. For the record it really bothers me when dealers or krown touch/drive/look at my truck :-) I'm a bit ****

I've been reading on and off about Krown, RustCheck, and Corrosion Free for over a decade. I've decided to go with Krown on my new F-150.

My new custom ordered 2013 FX4 arrived at the dealer today, I pick it up tomorrow and am taking it directly to have the bed and rear wheel wells LineX'd. Then I have an appointment in Sarnia, Ontario the following day to have the Krown corrosion treatment done. There's another Krown dealer in Windsor, Ontario but I chose the one in Sarnia due to the fact that Krown is all that they do there.

I've researched as much as I can and Krown seems to always come up the winner...so I'm going to trust my new baby to Krown. I will not drive it in the snow until this is done - and the weather looks like it's going to cooperate.
