Brypink2 I have boston z6's and love them. I had them in my ranger on that older monster 2 channel from eclipse (370x2) and they sounded great. I did have to eq out some of the midbass though it was kinda muddy. I'm going with a rockford 25-life power1000 for my f150, running it 3 channel with a boston G5 10" sub. I figure that should take care of it for sq.
Thanks mang...but I just bought a pair of Rainbow PowerLine CS. I can't wait to get them...should be here by next weekend. They are coming straight from Germany!

Bart & Doug - So, I see you are a little upset with me? You guys haven't seen my new box yet, huh? I'm pulling it out tomorrow, hopefully...and I will get some pics then. Cool? The only thing...I couldn't get it to sit flush with the seat...it sticks out about an inch. Oh well...no one ever rides back there anyway.

I would love to see pics. I am currently thinking about a new sub setup and want to see how the Mag box looks. So, you think that 7" or less is about the max for down firing? I wish I could figure out someway to squeeze a 10" IDMAX under there. I know forward firing would work but, I would prefer down firing. But, it takes 7.625". I am thinking about a pair of 12" IDQ's under there. Powered with only 300 watts each, they should sound really good.

The only way you will get a 10IDMAX to fit is to make your own seat lift...like 4"! I don't see that happening. You should really go with these MAGs or at least one. All I can say is WOW...and I can say that...with all the sub configurations I've had. lol

Def. get pics of that thing. How tall did the box end up being in the end?

A pair of IDQ would be pretty nice, probably not to hard to fit either; only like 5 1/2 inches mounting depth aren't they? Or go with a Mag or two like Bry said

I finally got an amp for my Mag too. D5 1200.1 for 190 bucks. Couldnt pass that up. I think I might get a 300.4 and bridge if for the front stage too, since they are only 150ish bucks on Ebay.

If I am reading correctly, the Mag is a dual 2 ohm sub. My new Alpine amp only does 300 @ 4 ohm and 600 @ 2ohm. Not an amp switch already

Im sure you have an Arc amp laying around that would work. Like a 1500 for the sub, then a 2100 for you front stage

How did you know

Seriously though, the front stage is set with the Alpine 550 unless I want to get rid of it and buy an H701, which I did not want to do. That's why I bought the 550. I did just get a 2500XXK in today but, it is going in the Pilot to run the Diamond Hex comps with 270 x 2. If I was not hung up on matching amps, I could get a different sub amp but, I hate to mix and match.

Ahhh yeah, forgot you have all that high tech stuff with the.....heck I dont even know

Alpine doesnt have a matching 1k watt amp?

Speaking of Apline amps, have any of you guys seen those little PXB or whatever amps. I went into a shop and a guy showed me a 1000 watter and a 100x2, and they were both about the size of my hand or something. Made me chuckle a little that they were so small.

Oh yeah..get that 2500 in and tell us how those Hex's like it.

We have those pbx's and it makes you wonder how they will hold up with some abuse and heat all packed in so tight. I haven't had a chance to try one yet.

Yeah it would be interesting to see what they are like. Im on the Alpine site right now and see the dimensions are right around 10x7x3 inches. Wouldnt be to hard to find a place to mount one of those. Definatley a plus. I like the way they look too; plain and simple.

A couple of those amps would run my 5.1 pretty good. 150 x 4 to the front and rear, 150 x 1 to a center and 300 x 1 to the sub with an extra 150 for later. But, I wonder about the SQ of them.

I do not think I am that brave. I will say that I am attempting to replace the amp setup in the Pilot. The Arc 2500XXK is quite impressive for sure but, I do not hear that much of a difference in SQ over the 2100XXK to justify all the extra juice. I am trying to find a two amp setup that will run 150 x 2 for the front comps, anywhere from 250-500 for the sub and around 50 x 3 for rear and center channel. There are just not many amps that I can make work. 75-100 watts to the comps is easy but not 150. My best choice so far is a Zapco 1000.4 and 360.4. Any ideas?
