I HATE the new f150
I know that several people have already stated that they think the new chrome grill looks similiar to a Chevy. I don't see it, however, I do believe that it closely resemble the Chevy's evil cousin, the Sierra. Can anyone put up a couple of pictures, side-by-side of a F-150 w/ the chrome grill and the Sierra w/ a chrome grill?
I had an instant reaction to the 04's and I ran out and bought one despite that fact that 03's were dirt cheap, good looking, and much more fun to drive. It kicked me in the head and I had to have one.
Not having the same reaction to the 09's though. Clearly the technology is better, they are safer, and they might have squeezed a little more fun out of the 5.4. However I don't think they are nearly as good looking. The 04's were tough looking and the interior was miles ahead of anything else out there. At the same time, the design was very clean and simple which attracts truck drivers (or at least it did me).
The 09's have way too much bling inside and out that turns me off. I'm in the camp of people that would have liked to see Ford address the performance ssues first. Someday people are going to look back at the 04's inside and out, and recognize that it was an important milestone in truck design. It's pretty much perfect in my opinion. Ford could have afforded to leave that alone for 3 more years. They really missed a golden opportunity to completely shut down Chevy and Dodge by delivering something that just whoops their ***.

I'll be gettin one when my current truck is paid off, that will be probably 2011-12. I think that Ford hit a home run with this re-design. Looks like a tough truck. I also like the added comfort/tech upgrades in the cabin. I like a luxury truck. I don't necessarily use my truck to tow or haul, but I still need a capable 4x4 vehicle, and I like bells and whistles. I regret selling my '03 Lariat because it had just about every option other than a sunroof. My '04 FX4 is not exactly what I would want, but it was what I could afford at the time. When I get my new F150, I'm goin all the way and gettin every option available! I might see if the dealer can add a few more buttons on the dash

What in the heck were they thinking? Not to mention those suckers are probably going to cost $500 a pop. Hopefully the after market will solve this problem, for those of us who don't want to star in "The Fast and The Furious: F150 Drift."
Secondly, I really like the looks of the FX4/STX grill. However, the ones that have the HUGE chrome surround, that thing is butt ugly. Who wants a big **** chrome square around the front of their truck the size of an 04 tailgate? That is just too much, and I wouldn't even consider one of those, unless you can delete the huge chrome square.
Thirdly, it shares a lot of the same basic dimensions as the current model, including the exact same windshield, and it just isn't all that exciting of a change, little more than the '93-'94 change, or what ever year that occurred. Heck, at least they added the flairside back then.
And lastly, it has a spoiler on the tailgate. What next, a wing?
Play artist Suck.

I felt the same way when I first saw the 04s on the web "damn now thats a truck"
The 09s I don't like em. Those taillights look like generic after market s10 ones you would get a Pep boys, and the interior with all those buttons looks like the in side of a Imperial Star Destroyer.

The 09 super duper chrome platinum edition

With that said, I love my '08. I think the '04-'08 has great styling. So yes, I do like the style of the '09, but it in no way looks "twice as tough and mean".

yes the overal body is the same because its just a revamp, but youll notice how much flatter the front profile is from the side shot. BTW, when isaid that, i was speaking about my previous sig, click the "my signatures" link in my sig, and look at the one with the 3 f150s, the 97, the 04, and the 09. The 09 in that looks MUCH tougher than the blue one in my sig now.
