I still haven't got the current style to work for me, I will say I can see the new one having a lot more potential. I am only liking the new FX4 at the moment though, the chrome is way overdone on the rest of them.

Chrome can be overdone? Well maybe on a truck... My Motorcycle looks like a rolling whorehouse

Bikes are slightly different, half of the front end of a truck being chrome just scream "cheap but trying to look expensive" Especially on these new cars where it is plainly obvious that is just chrome plated plastic.

Plastic chrome is the ugliest and cheapest crap a person can put on their vehicle. Plastic chrome did look good on my Schwinn back in the day

Well......

I don't like the 09' F150. I think its ugly..... But not as ugly as the new Chevy's and GMC's ! Now those are just fugly !

Put it this way, I ordered a brand new 08' F150 about 6 weeks ago (was hoping it would be here by now) so, just out of concern, that their might have been a problem with my order going through, I decided to check on the cutoff date for special ordering an 08' F150.... and guess what ? It's already past ! Now I'm really sweating it ! As 1) the base price of an 09' vs an 08' has got to be a few thousand $ more, 2) I'll lose out on a $6000 rebate, and 3) so I'd be paying $8 or $10K more, on a truck which I don't think looks anywhere near as nice !

In other words, if my 08' order doesn't come through (for any stupid reason), I probably won't be getting a Ford......
Unless I can get an 08' off of the lot, that they couldn't sell, for rediculously cheap... like way less than cost.... then turn around and have a $5k paint job put on it. Full carpeting. Power windows and locks, etc..... In other words, if Ford doesn't build it for me, I'll try to buy one cheap enough that I can build it up myself.....

That's fine that a lot of you like 09' F150's. A lot of guys like toaster box Scions too. Like my buddy said (relating to Scions), "You could build a car that looks like a big turd, and somebody, somewhere, is going to think that is just the coolest darn thing on the planet" :-) LOL

It's almost funny to see some guys get bent out of shape over this though :-) I mean, I have no problem with guys liking an 09' F150.... So why should they care that I like the 04-08's a lot better ?

Opinions are like a## #####, and theirs always lots of them on any public forum..... Opinions I mean :-)

Peace,
Fish

When the 2004 came out.. I was driving a Lexus... but I took notice... I loved the truck.. Hands down was the best looking truck I've seen.. I've been a Toyota/Nissan truck guy prior...

Since then I've owned a another car.. but just dumped it for a 2006 KR... I was thinking about waiting for the 2009.. but after seeing them... WOW.. They are UGLY... To me it looks like its gone back a generation... like it should have been the 2004 model year... Interior I like.. but the exterior?? :o

I'm hoping when the 2010 comes out in the diesel.. that 1.. The Diesel gets more then 22MPG!!! and 2- They do something to the exterior so to make it a little better looking.. Or you might be right and it just might take a little time to get use to... I'm hoping anyway..

When I look at the 2009 F150 what I see is too many people were involved in the design, the end result was an effort to incorporate everyone's ideas. It looks like the designers couldn't decide if they wanted to go with Super Duty lite, or light duty.

I'd take a 3v 4.6L (I don't tow) w/ 6spd trans in a semi-attractive truck package over a 2v 4.6L w/ 4spd in any truck package anyday of the week.

Maybe the drivetrain will bolt right into an 04-08?

It seems that they paid more attention to the interior re-design which looks great. But ran short on time and decided to use the Sport-Trac features on the outside. I still like my 2005. The 2004-2008 design had me sold.

I know im going to take alot of heat for saying this but i like the new chevy's. well only the 2500 HD. if it wasnt for the fact that i can pick up a new ford cheap every two years i would probably switch. but i have a screw and i make the best of it well at least what i can afford to do.

So im not the only person thats hoping for the drivetrain to just bolt up?

This article here says the 2009 will have 320 HP and 390 FT of TQ, and 1 MPG better mileage, something to consider.

And for those who like the 2009, some nice wallpaper.
