Lol where do i start. For one i am not at all keen on the way there trucks look at the moment, Esp the front end. But the 2009 takes that to the limit. It's just got no style and looks cheap and tacky. The interior also looks to be cheap and tacky. I have seen better looking Kia interiors. To be honest the only trucks that look any good are the f150's and the Titans. All the other trucks look like a kid has designed them. I wernt keen on the 08 F150's and was going to purchase a Titan LE but when i see the design and features of the 09's i was blown away. Just waiting for the dam thing to turn up now.

I have been keeping an eye on most trucks seeings as i was ready to spend 50k on one and what i also noticed with dodge is that when i.e Ford or Toyota add something to their trucks a few months later it's avalible as an option on the Dodge trucks. Is follow all dodge can do? have they ever featured something that someone else hasnt.

the titan is the ugliest piece of crap ever made....

for 09, best choices are GMC denali, Ram, Tundra

Seeing a 2009 f150 in person may jump that up to the list...however the same old engine is holding it back

Oh boy.

Love it. Hate it. Like some of it. Like another manufacturers truck. Whatever the case may be, and whatever anyone decides who buys one in the next 3 years or so, you can rest assured there won't be too many passing you on the roads. Trucks have taken a big backseat to little cars right now.

So whatever you buy for a truck if you buy something within the next few years, enjoy it no matter what it is or who built it, because you'll be one of the few who could afford it & to run it, or one of the few who went into debt to look cool to people driving by who really are only concerned about their own busy lives and not what some random person is driving by them on the street with.

Look at how few hits this forum (2009) gets. I check here every day multiple times and there's never anything going on here. It's a great site, I love it. But it just shows how no one is thinking trucks nowadays. Wasn't like this back in '03-'04, everyone was buying. So buy what you want and enjoy it, or save some cash for retirement or pay off debt. But if you do have extra cash handy to buy an '09 outright, that's pretty sweet and I hope it's a great truck (and doesn't squeek 'n rattle like the '04's do)!

I don't believe that nobody is thinking about trucks anymore, it's that there just isn't alot going on in the truck world right now worth talking about. When the '09 models FINALLY go on sale expect this section to light up like a dang Christmas tree. I'm not a fan of the '09, but I will be in the showroom checking them out and driving them when they're available.

The '04-'08 section isn't as busy as it used to be because those models aren't being built anymore, and those of us that own them have nothing left to complain about.

Let me guess, you'd buy the Tundra simply because it has that 381 HP 5.7 in it right? If I was only interested in HP then I would wait until '09 and buy a Dodge Ram, same power, FAR more reliable engine. Oh, I'd also be buying a DOMESTIC truck.

... i was making my decision based only on the body style. i had no idea how much the engine in the tundras are pushing but thanks for that info and i could care less if its "Domestic" made. vehicles are not made to last, if they did then we wouldnt be buying new cars and trucks every year and the motor companies would make far less money than they are making now. So it makes no sense to build a vehicle that'll last a lifetime without replacing something crucial to keep it rolling.. actually i take that back, the 22R engine in my toyota pick up has never been replaced nor has it ever tooken a shhhhhh on me. hah

Whatever. I've owned nothing but domestic vehicles my entire life, Fords mostly, and I've never had any of them need new engines or transmissions. They all started with one turn of the key and they didn't stop running until I shut them off. You don't have to own a foreign vehicle to have a reliable one.

It's thinking like yours that's allowed foreign companies to thrive in the domestic marketplace.

I'm confused. The '09 F-150 has a MUCH larger grille, headlights, and front end, hood, etc. than any previous F-150. How is that not upholding the Ford Tough look?

Also, how is the droopy front end of the tundra more tough looking than even the current body style F-150, never mind the beefier '09 F-150? Seems to me the Ford's and the GMC's are the only trucks still out there that have front end's that stand up in your face, tough looking.

All the others either have a droopy front end (tundra, chevy); a bizarre front end (titan - they still make those btw?); and the ram is about to move backwards in '09 and develop it's own very droopy front end. Odd considering the ram's always used to have a tough look to them. Not refined like the 150's, but tough. Now they go droopy with the rest. Maybe it's for fuel economy/aerodynamics? It's not for tough truck looks.

Again, the only one getting beefier is the 150.

I still love the 09 F150. I still remember hating the 04-08 F150 when it was released back in 2003. It grew on me and I bought one in 04. People just hate change, especially when that change makes their older generation vehicles seem, well...old.
