I don't hate it. It looks like they were going for a Super Duty look, but didn't quite get it.

The interior looks very nice, but a little busy like others said.

The rear emblem is a little much and I'd probably lose the entire tail gate for a tire gate or something else. Rear tails aren't too hot either - Nightshades would take care of that.

The wheel selection seems a little lacking, but that can be fixed.

Overall, I wouldn't mind having one. But I wouldn't trade my 06 for it unless it was just getting old.

How the Hell am I to get into this thing? They took the drivers side grab handle away . I guess my Fat a$$ is staying in my put in my old rig. I like the body but the interior looks a lot like a Chevy.

 

Ford you got it really, really wrong.... The outside of this truck is just downright ugly... I have owned 3 F150's, A 2001 F150 S/cab, a 2003 S/crew and currently an 05 Lariat S/crew. I was considering possibly purchasing an 09, but after looking at the photos of the exterior and interior I will not spend my hard earned money buying a truck that is so ugly... Ford designers... What were you all thinking of when you designed the exterior of the 09 ??? It's good to see that Ford finally complemented the safety spectrum by adding side curtain airbags and a 6 speed auto for better gas efficiency, BUT.... if you are like me, the vehicle that you drive says a lot about yourself and your tastes. Ford sorry to say it but, you have lost a future customer.... and I suspect many more customers than just myself....

I agree 100%. I like it every bit as much as the current body style and its only going to grow on everyone more after they start hitting the streets.

I'm just disappointed they haven't changed anything with the motors. Hopefully they'll get the new motors in them by 2010 - I'm holding out buying one of the first ones off the line anyways. Ford doesn't have a good track record on first year models.

 

Flat hood, bolder more boxy styling. I think the front end has a lot in common with GM, but all of the trucks have been headed that way for awhile now. Thank god it doesn't have the flares over the back wheels!

 

I do not like the buttons, nor the button layouts on the center dash. The radio, everything surrounding the radio, looks cheap. That said, I don't have many more complaints and everything I did not mention I'm in love with. But it really uglifies the interior, as well as the bed storage. I wish they did the bedside storage like every other truck is starting to do (Dodge Ram, Nissan Titan, and so on), it's ingenius and I could use the extra storage to save my interior from rattles!

 

I dont see any TOY in this truck either. I do see FUG though. (dont ask me what fug means, it just sounds nasty, just like the 09 F150 looks.) Ford hit a home run in 04. There was no doubt it was the best looking truck out there. There were some "haters", but not nearly as many as Ive seen here, including myself.

DODGE hit the home run this year! One look at their truck and wow. I was impressed. Unlike my first glance at the 09 150.

Will someone please post up side by side pics of the 150 and Dodge? You all tell me which one looks better.

BTW TBIRD69 and others, have you taken note that Dodge will also be getting a light duty diesel? It should go along nicely with the factory dual exhaust and all around better looks.

The Ford looks better. Dodge put the front clip from a Charger on the truck and called it a day. They also "tried" to make the interior as nice as a Ford.

8,750lb tow rating and coil sprung rear on the Dodge. No thanks!

 

Just by first glance, I dont really like the 09 truck. I have been planning on getting a new truck 2Q-3Q of next year, right now its;

05-07 SD > 04-08 F150 > 08+ SD > 09 F150.

But just like a lot of cars, they grow on you once you seem them on the road with different options, colors, and modifications.


EDIT-I just saw a shot of a black 09 at what appears to be an Auto Show(maybe Detroit), and holy *****, that was a good looking truck. It wont take long for many people to find the new truck appealing.

 

I love the new 09. When I first saw pictures I wasnt feeling it but now I like. Well everything except the taillights. I have the 07 but I want an 09 now. Dont get me wrong I love my 07 also. What Im trying to say is that I want both, lol
