I know that feeling. There are only a couple in my area including NY boarder as it is. Makes me feel special yet alone .

Don't worry about it. Not a big deal. Sent in another data log on my truck. So another few days and I'll have version 3 on the tune. Can't wait for it. Hopefully get the rest of my tunes soon as well.

Should have taken your advice Kent...

I've now got NO tick from the engine. Had to reseal the drivers side. The #5 cylinder lower bolt loosened off. I had them all locked, so I don't really know what caused it to loose torque. Anyways, oem gaskets are in place, and I used a light dab of loctite on each bolt.

And this happened...

So I'm hoping warranty will cover it. Haven't had them too long, and really only used them a hand full of times. I really didn't feel like reopening the headlight, but I may just scrap these ebay cheap buckets, and start on one of the oem pairs I have. Make work project I guess.

I told you those gaskets were s*** Mine crumbled when I took them out of the packaging.

What happened to the light? Half the halo ring go out? I'm painting all of my stuff now, but that's exactly why I didn't get halos. I like them, but they ALWAYS have problems eventually.

If you swap buckets, I'd probably change the bowls out so you don't have to re-cut everything. I love that the painted portions, lenses, and bucket rears are all different pieces.

Yeah half the halo went out. Well the full ring wasn't working, then half came back. Biggest reason I rear mounted them over face mounting. Just a pain in the rear.

The xbled rings are coming out with temperature sensitive ones that dim if they get too hot. Maybe those would be better. Who knows. I love the look of the lights, and I was hoping from lack of use that they would last a bit longer. Oh well.

As far as the buckets, I may recut the others, and go with the rx350 projectors. They will be cheaper as I won't need bulbs and ballasts, shrouds and whatnot. Haven't made up my mind, and really don't feel the need to do them right away.

And yes, those gaskets are junk. The passenger side is still good, but I may have to redo that eventually as well. It really is nice having a truck that doesn't tick. Been battling that for a year and a half.

Well that's crappy. My buddy just asked me like 5 minutes ago why I didn't put halos on mine, and I cited this as an example haha.

Yeah, it's a pain. I had read a lot about them failing, but there were also lots about them being good as well. Oh well. I'm gonna cook up something to do with the newer set that I plan on eventually doing.

And thelariat, I will let you know when it get closer to me doing the second set.

Baticus, is that the OBX gasket that burnt up?

From Stealth's experience, he used Ford gaskets and they leaked, OBX gaskets and everything was fine.

Yes, that was the obx gasket. The bolt lost torque, must not of locked it 100%. I've got oem gaskets, with a slight dab of high temp sealant. I should have no issues now. The style of gasket that obx uses is usually a far superior gasket than the flimsy steel oem kind. Unfortunately with that bolt loosing torque my best course of action is replacing the gasket. It's been a few days since the repair and all is still good. I've retorqued them once last night(same as before) and none had moved. I'll give them one more retorque(just to make sure).

I'd much prefer a fat gaskets like OBX provided, but the ones they give you are so crappy. I've said it several times, but chunks of mine were stuck to the packaging and the thing crumbled. My OEMs have been fine for a year and a half.

My OBX gaskets were in perfect condition when I got them and never leaked once in the 2 years I has headers.

Mine looked good out of the box, if only that bolt stayed tight.

Although dealing with that style of gasket at work (cat engines use them) I did notice some differences. They were a bit dryer than what I'm used to. Usually when you remove them, they are stuck to both surfaces. The obx ones did not. So I don't really know if they are made of the same materials or not. If they were the same as what the heavy truck engines use, they would never leak.
