Darren, worst part about breaking down was getting ribbed for 3 hours about getting rescued by a Chevy cruze... Although the trip back to the truck, it appeared as though ford pick ups were dropping like flies. There were 5 more trucks with their hoods up.

KMAC, what offset did you go with on those mavericks? I was thinking about a set of those for mine.

Darren, I've come to like those Cobalts. Buddy of mine has one with 450 at the crank running on E85 and it's hilarious when everyone underestimates it haha. Your buddy's looks pretty clean.

Baticus, that's pretty odd that there were so many having trouble! The wheels are 20x10 -24, so 4.5" backspacing. Seems the -12s are a lot easier to find, but the -24s give that extra 1/2" of poke. I think they'd look good on your silver truck. They're getting really popular though, that's one thing I don't like.

I was so close to asking them to make an appointment for the lift on tomorrow! Don't want to rush anything and then fly across the country though. Boy am I impatient!

Got the first 2 coats of AZ Beige on the bad spots. let it sit, wet sanded some, found a BAD blob that I must have not been paying attention that I need to remove, and redo... Wish I had a way to get this bed off easily... Any pointers?

Once the cab back / bed front is done, I am moving on to the flares. Have one spot on the fender just in front of the pass rear flare, that I am going to have to fix / repaint and feather in, then all of it gets thoroughly cleaned and buffed, including some scratches on the tailgate. No clue where they came from, but they gotta go!

I am researching options. I don't really want a camper shell permantently on the truck, but I sure could use one on the beach . I am considering a bed rug and designing a tarp / tent type rig to keep the rain, bugs and sand off of us, but allow gulf breezes through... Once I figure it out, get it built, and test it (this summer hopefully), I will get the blog posting on it done...

I did take the truck to an off road spot that I knew I could test out the trimming without getting into too much nastiness or risk arrest, and lo and behold, all seems well and good. So the combination of Quiclift Loadeds, Coil Sumo Springs, and fender trimming gives me the clearance. I need. I am good with that, however I do want the nose level again...

KMAC, luckily they aren't too popular around here. I would love a set of monsters, but they are on about 40% of the trucks around my parts. I've only noticed one set of the mavericks though. Still undecided though, I've got a while to wait to make a choice which will be good.

I'm planning on cutting my cats out tomorrow. I think the spectre intake leaned the a/f out. Since I put the volant on I've noticed a loss of power in the higher revs, and it feels more apparent the warmer it is. I've already fabbed the pipes up with o2 bungs and non foulers. If I like it, I'm going to get a dual bent with x-pipe and borla xr1's. If I don't like it, Maggie high flows, x-pipe and dual borla's.
The non foulers will be temporary, if I go without cats
I'll get the rear o2's turned off permanently.

Not 100% certain, but I believe the quad cat arrangement was changed after 2005. I would not expect to find that configuration on a 2006-2008 F150. Only way to make certain is crawl up under there and look...

That's what I was thinking, that it changed sometime after 04-05. All I know is that my 07 truck does not have quad cats.

I wish my '04 didn't... But maybe not. I would imagine that they did the quad things to use free-er flowing cats and still get the sniffer test results they needed...

Luckily there are no emissions testing in Kentucky, but I can't wait to get rid of that 50 gal drum of a muffler out from under my truck. Whenever I get around to it I'm probably going to just do a SI/DO magnaflow.

Llama: That's what I did, got a SIDO Magna and I like the sound of it, nice big growl on crank up with a constant rumble at idle.

I always see people talking about getting their trucks inspected or passing tests and stuff but I've never heard of that in South Carolina. Can anyone enlighten me?

Thanks for the vote of confidence in the idea, Greentitan. I think the only state I've seen/in the southeast that I've even heard anyone talk about is Georgia and I think that's just for the Atlanta area. I could be wrong, but I could've sworn I saw something about it while I was down that way.

Yeah, my 06 has two cats. And luckily up here in the great white north, I have no emissions testing. The only province that is getting sticky is British Columbia. Not that it's any relevance to the areas you guys are from.

In most parts of Kentucky, there's usually not enough people to start a fight. That and there are a ton of older vehicles in the more rural areas that would never meet any kind of emissions. Other than noise complaints, exhaust is whatever you want to make it here.

I could probably make a video of the exhaust if you're interested llama.

I've seen a few trucks with them, but I guess seeing them on Instagram, etc. from all over the country doesn't help with my perception of popularity haha.

Yeah, I have my rear O2s programmed out so I don't have a CEL. I really want to change my mid pipe up and get rid of my SIDO and the resonators after the header collectors. I'd love true duals, X pipe, and a pair of XR1s. I want more of a Mustang-type sound.

No sir, just the two. I finally sold my cats on Craigslist 2 weeks ago haha.
