Well I already have mine, which I paid $80 for and then I got LED light cubes, Husky liners, and reverse lights for "free" in the same deal lol

How did you do that?! And I kept going through the rest of the Houston craigslist. Yall have so much good stuff being sold, I have nothing here. I wish they would be more willing to ship, even if I offered to pay for it they still wouldn't.

Both paint jobs look good from the pics. I personally wouldn't do the red caliper paint, too cliche, but it does look good...

You are still young, I would recommend you look into a respirator so your lungs will last the rest of your life... I personally prefer the 3M 7500 series. Good fit, and down firing exhaust so you don't fog up your safety glasses...

By the way, is that a Cobra 29LTD on the dash? Do you have any thermal problems with it there? I need to re-mount my TRC-465 but don't want to melt the traces on the board... My plan was a ventilated hump mount box, but puts me in the same problem you have with the GPS, display too low to read safely when driving...

Yeah it's not visually beneficial mounted to the bottom of the steering wheel. I can't look at it while I'm driving, it's about as bad as text messaging and driving. But I'm still in need of a place to put it that won't look too out-of-place, you know what I mean? Checking out my dash, there aren't many other options for mounting an external GPS unit. I'm thinking of putting it back on the lower part of the pillar again, but it caught too much glare and I couldn't see it. And if I mounted it higher on the pillar, it would impede my field of view. It just sucks my Alpine HU requires an external device for the NAV to work. I'm going to shoot for getting a better head unit, but I gotta go for another alpine because everything in my system is mated for one. I already have the GPS antenna, microphone, wiring harness, video systems, everything. I would much rather a Pioneer or something better, but I also have a PAC-TR7 module and it's programmed for Alpine head units.

As for the CB, it's a 25NWWXST. I got it because the bracket fit right into the pocket. I wanted to keep the CB radio mounted as low as possible so it wouldn't be in my driving field of view. But I have no thermal issues with it. I've run it for 15 hours a day straight for 3 days on my way from Vegas to Fort Bragg, and no flaws. I have a basic plug and play antenna, no boosters, no noise reducing mics, or anything. But I really wouldn't want my CB mounted anywhere else. The controls are right in front of me and since I have weather bands on it, it's easy to switch channels when I go from one locale to another.

It has been years since I've painted something that big, last being a 79 scout when I was 16. To be honest I did over look a respirator. And by the looks of things I should get 2. Safety glasses... What are those?

I do agree about the red caliper paint. It is very cliche, but I really need to do something to make the truck pop. That was the cheapest alternative.

Thanks on the feedback.

Trade-in truck at work $1100 worth of stuff for $80 haha. We were sending it to auction and we don't care about those vehicles. Guy didn't take a single thing off the truck though.

I talked to the guy that sold the truck to us and he was like "yeah, if I had known, I would've let you come over and take most of this stuff off for dirt cheap" haha. He had E-fans, UD pulleys, Saleen gauges and steering wheels, even more lights, badges like Brent's/CST's, LEDs in every single bulb (literally), tailgate assist and remote popping tailgate, and a whole bunch of other stuff too. I got most of what I wanted though.

Yeah, I did see that. But it would take me 32 seconds to fix, so I considered that an almost non-issue haha. Oh well, the shipping probably would've been the killer. I'd expect like $200 or so. Do keep in mind that they suck from a practical standpoint too, they just look AWESOME.

Went by the body shop last night. Seems that the fender straightening is mostly done, the 1/4" + gap between the plastic trim piece and the fender itself is now gone, the visible wave in the fender is gone, it all looks smooth. I forgot to check the door trim that was another big deal, that needs to be straight, and cleaned up.

The replacement fender flares are in, but not installed yet. The shop goofed and failed to get the Pacer Performance Flexy Flares, but instead ordered the EGR OEM Look flares, I am good with that, however I won't have a chance to PTM them before they go on... I will have to remove them at home, clean and scuff them up, and PTM them in the home shop.

I believe I should be able to pick it up today. Woo Hoo!

The Body shop had grease pencilled every last little scratch in the paint (They usually do that), but boy it sure pointed something out... I need to buff a mess of fine scratches out, SOON!

considering an upgrade?? for towing

Ive got a 2010 F150 5.4L Platinum 4x2.

Ive added a Undercover Tonneau cover with a undercover swingbox for all my crap. Made the right choice in that purchase. Love that I can climb up on it to clean the roof of my truck. I tow a 2014 Jayco Jayflight Swift 287BHBE that after all loaded sits at about 7800lbs. Wife with kids at 900 and a few other items in the bed. using a weight Distribution Hitch and Sway bar it pulls effortlessly. I am thinking of adding the tailgate assist from http://www.autoanything.com just for an added benefit of it not slamming down when opened. I am considering updating to a 2014 platinum Long Wheel base 3.5l Ecoboost so that I have the option off upgrading to a 5thwheel later. Any adise?

^ I wouldn't tow a fifth wheel with a half ton. It can be done, but I wouldn't. But hey, if it's about 10k pounds TOTAL when loaded up, maybe.

Just got back from the Body shop. The work looks good and the stickers are on the truck now so no risk of getting pulled over... The flares were replaced with the EGR OEM look flares, and they not only look much better, but they are exactly the same width as the Pacer Flexy Flares...

The plastic molding on the bottom edge of the front fender has been replaced, and they straightened out the lower inside lip that I intentionally rolled back. Need to trim the plastic and roll that lip again to get rid of the teeny bit of rub I have going on. It is only at certain steering angles with big bumps...

All in all I am reasonably pleased, however I do still want the nose up to level, meaning I need stronger springs...

I noticed a HUGE difference in driving / smooth ride between the 15 Tahoe rental we had and the F150... I never realized the 150 rode rough comparatively... But then again that tahoe isn't running on big mud tires either...
