I had the driver side regulator go out. I opted for the Dorman part from O'Reilly. It is a little cheaper and comes with a limited lifetime warranty.

Should have gone that route as well... How much was it? And I wonder what limited lifetime warranty means. If the part that always breaks on these breaks again, do they replace it or is that considered normal wear to them.

I don't remember the cost, however it was not $170.

As for the warranty, I am not 100% sure but I did have to use it once. Last year during an ice storm I let my truck warm up and thought the windows were completely free of ice. Well the window would not roll down and it broke a cable in the Dorman unit. I took it in, explained what happened and they replaced it. So I guess the warranty is not too limited.

Ever since I installed the new Honeycomb grille insert, my hood has rattled and vibrated in the wind like crazy. Today I finally tracked down the source--the surround was not tightly enough secured--closed the gap I noticed between the surround and headlamp assembly, and no more vibration

Looks like I'll go that route then. The one I "repaired" broke yesterday evening, so I frantically tore my door apart to duck tape the window up to get through those torrential rains last night (truck doesn't fit in my garage). Checked at O'Reilly and they had it for $140. Not cheap, but better...

Good to see another person from Austin! If you ever need some help with the truck, I'm close!

Wow, I am thinking they went up on the price. I thought it was closer to $100. Oh well.

Yeah, I understand completely about the rain. It was needed but man it kept waking me up.

As for being in Austin, that is cool. Same for you, if you need any help let me know.
