You may want t try something a little brighter, like these for the cluster. And you could use all 3mm but it wouldn't be very easy. If you want to stay away from the super small LEDs then get 50 3mm and 50 plcc-2 LEDs; if not get 50 1206 LEDs and 50 plcc-2 LEDS.

PLCC-2 are in used in steering wheel controls, all switches besides the doors, and the ac controls

1206 or 3mm are used in the door switches

okay I have a 2005 Ford F150 Screw

Okay today i picked up the tools and i'm going for it. But i am not going to use square LEDS. i am going to use Blue Dome looking LEDs 3mm, for switches, and AC control and Instrumental cluster. Will i still need resistors in doing so, or could i just desolder the green lights in the switches and replace them with the blue lights? i will be leaving the 4wheel instrument and Cruise control Instrument green.
For the Guage cluster i am going to go blue but with the US speedo SS backing in blue. But i dont know what size bulbs. Are they 194?

Oh by the way, i will be purchasing all new switches, AC pannel and gauge cluster and instrument light cluster replacement so JUST IN CASE i mess up, i dont mess up bad. and i still have a running truck. Maybe whoever did this post can go into business and sell PREMADE, gauge cluster, and switches and instrument clusters ready to go in peoples choice of color, wink wink (just an idea).

The bulbs for inside the cluster are #74 bulbs. You won't need resistor for the LEDs as long as you solder them to the original contact points. Be careful doing this as everything is in series and if one is messed up none will work. I actually do the switches to any color you like, just don't advertise it right now, and I am working on making some circuit boards for the cluster. Once this is done maybe I'll have more time to do the swaps. Not really sure since I work full time and go to school full time. But anyways if you run into any problem just email me or post on here and I should be able to help.

okay so will these bulbs sufice for the switches?

http://www.superbrightleds.com/cgi-b...b3mm_specs.htm

Could i use the same bulbs also for light instrument cluster and AC cluster?

Those will work for the switches; however, I wouldn't recommend them for the AC because they won't fit behind the diffuser. For the AC you have to use PLCC-2 LEDS. And for the cluster it is # 74 bulbs. I also would probably buy the 3mm LEDs from ebay or Digikey because they are so much cheaper. If you would like I could put together the things you need.

okay, that would be awsome!!!.

Will the bulbs for the AC need any resistors?

Thanks so much

i'm only on the first window switch (driver side back passenger). and i am stuck. Your diagram makes no sense, and instructions on putting the board back while soldering the new LEDs is a no go. The cicuitry is on the bottom of the board. I'm all in headaches and stress.

here you go, This is a circuit board for a single window switch.

circuitboard001diagram.jpg?t=1267656602
circuitboard002diagram.jpg?t=1267656651

so where do i solder new lights? the 3mm are way bigger than the stock ones. This is a challenge.

Ok the way I was doing it for the 3mm would require you destroying the boards and using your own resistors; however, I can tell you a different way of doing it. What you are going to do is de-solder the LEDs only so that there is a hole. You will then be able to slide the 3mm led into the hole that the old led used to be in. You are then going to solder the 3mm leds to the contact points of the old leds. make sure you solder postive to positive and negative to negative. If I remember correctly the leds that ford uses has the positive side on the side with the top of T looking green marking. I hope this makes sense without pictures since I can't really get any pictures of this.
