Mine is doing great still (kinda old thread ay?). I got just a c**ts hair over 48k mark. No "big" problems so far (knocking on wood) other then some [bad] person rubbed up along the entire passenger side from my taillight up to my mirror. Made for some pretty DEEP scratches. Then they had the ***** to just take off with out a note or a word to anyone. Its across the street at the body shop as we speak.

Well it has been about 6 months since my last post to this thread and I am now at 102,000 miles and still going strong. I love the truck and hope it last a few hundred thousand more miles.

Dad's 04 dropped the drivers window regulator last month. He fixed it with a new part in about 1.5 hours. The cables didnt break, but the motor coupling broke all of the splines off.

My baby just rolled over 70,000. She is still running like it did the first day I got it. 37s and heavy load I am guessing is putting a hurting on it. The only thing that it has been in the shop for it just the regular wear and tear, like oil changes and breaks. My back sliding window works when it feels like it. It will work for a couple of months and stop for a couple of months. Weird

I've got 104000 Kms (65200 Miles) on my 04 FX4.

No problems. Still have original tires on it. Same brakes (changed the pads to Wagner Thermos at 2000 Kms due to excessive squeaking).

Thing runs great. Goal is to get 1/2 million kms (~310000 Miles) on it before I get a new vehicle. So far so good.

Cool 2004 Running Fine

I have about 40k on my Lariat SCAB - love the truck. Looks as good as the day I drove it home (6/18/04). Other then regularly scheduled maintenance, have only had to replace a head light, wheel cover, battery and a defective tonneau cover, all covered under the Ford warranty. May be looking at a 2009.

I just purchased an 04 F150 Screw two weeks ago and after reading some of these reply's i'm now starting to regret not getting an 05 or higher year model. My truck had 62,000 miles on it when I bought it so maybe the previous owner had done worked out all of the bad apples on my truck! I do have the ticking noise coming from my motor but it's not loud and the salesmen said it was normal.

Sold my 2004 in october. 53K. Only trouble I ever had was that the truck turned in 4LO alone, and doesn't wanted to switch back in normal. Get in garage two times, and the buyer said he don't have trouble, and can't believe a 5.4L can have a so good MPG !

Well, my trusty 2004 F150 has been out of warranty for 6 months now and I have to say it's been a rock solid rig. After 3 years of trips to the dealer for a host of warranty work it appears everything has been fixed and it continues to run like a Swiss watch. I've been good about having whatever service done that was needed at the required intervals. It's never gone much past 3K between said service, whether it was an oil change or a bumper to bumper once over.

Maybe I'll resurrect this thread in another 6 months for another update.
