2004 Lariat screw with 93K (had it since new) and only recently have had I to replace both front calipers because of sticking. Other than that no extensive problems whatsoever, just normal wear and tear.

One lingering problem is the 12V outlet always blows the fuse no matter what I put in there. Aside from the dents and dings from being a farm truck it is in great shape.

Stock as the day it came off the lot:

I have a 2004 SCREW Lariat with 130k miles. The only real issues I've had is three window regulators, three brake calipers, and twice I had to do some wiring repair because the channel under the rear sill plates would fill up with water and it corroded the wiring. I also have some rot forming in the bottom of the C Pillar.

I've had my '04 since '07 with 90K miles already on her, currently she has 255K. Beside the minor parts I replaced already I just was told by the shop that rotates and balances my tires that the front driver side axle hub has minor play in it.

Since I don't see this part getting better, I guess I'll start saving up.

Shop quoted me $400 per hub assembly installed for SKF brand.
Ford quoted me $345 per hub assembly (part only) for OEM, but with my son's discount $240.
On-line shopping found me $197 per hub assembly (part only) for OEM.

Seems to me I'll be doing my own replacement this spring on both hubs.

Pic is from this past fall at 250k...

117k and still going strong. she sees about 5k miles a year now but all and all things are good. Those 5k miles a year are hard ones as she is always pulling sleds or a boat around. I try to take it easy on her especially since the tranny kind of of has me worried... we call her a trusty steed.

I bought my 04 FX4 last July, Has 140,000 miles and it's still one of the best looking ones I've seen as far as body, paint and interior. On a sadder note, I can't say as much for the inside of the bed... I HATE PLASTIC BED LINERS!!! And you will see why.. vvv

Had to replace both bearing hubs, shop quoted me $400 per side. Picked them up for $140 for the pair and took me three hours to install. Front end is tight again, I can't believe the difference.

'04 FX4 S-Crew 170K miles on it. Great condition but getting nervous about some possible repairs coming up. Only repairs I have had to make are the dreaded spark plug change, a leak in the 3rd Brake light and a regulator on the rear pass. window. But...I am thinking the cam phasers and timing chain need to be fixed, living on borrowed time with the trans. and also needing to replace the shocks and struts. It's hard because the truck is still in great condition but starting to feel like it might be time to replace it...

agreed, my 04 is starting to make me a lil nervous, I'm hoping to soon buy another truck but to replace another truck - will be keeping the 04, not interested in dumping huge money in her but whatever it could be, it'll be less than a good truck. Maybe they'll both surprise us - nice truck you got there

Fix the bed, get what I've got in my '05, a Ford bedmat (I know I probably shouldn't be on a board for '04 trucks, but my '05 rolled off the line 12/17/04), so I have an '04 that's an '05 body style.

So I bought my 04 on Halloween of 03, and I want a new truck pretty bad. But, I can't afford it yet, now that I'm married, her new car payment, kid and blah blah blah lol. So I've been doing my best to try and upgrade my beast as much as possible. Luckily, I've only had one oil leak, which has since been fixed. of course I've had to fix things here and there but I beat the crap out of my truck. Next thing I need are upper ball joints. Anyway, here's a pic of a freshly detailed 04FX4 with new headlights and led light bars.

I also was able to finally fit a 35" tire in the spare slot. It's an almost bald one, and I ripped a broken exhaust pipe off but now it fits! ive tried to keep a clean stock look on everything, including the LED tails, camera on the tailgate handle, etc.

Haven't posted here in a long time. Saw this thread and figured this was a good way to jump back in. Bought my 04 Screw used in 07 with 36,000 miles. Coming up on 113,000 and running like the day I bought it. I recently had the plugs changed at the dealer in town and I have to say I think a got a pretty good price. $387 out the door. Well worth it to me as I was really considering tackling the job myself. They said two plugs broke, one being in the rear. I've replaced 3 window regulators. Believe it or not, the only one that is original is the drivers door! Obviously, lack of use seems to be the killer of those things. Changed both front calipers recently for sticking. The second one coming a few months after the first and on the coldest, rainy day in February. Naturally pads and rotors but I wouldn't count them as problems. Did find a couple surface rust spots on the roof awhile ago. One behind the sunroof and the other in the water channel above the drivers door. I would have to give the rest of the paint a 9 out of 10. Oh, my power rear sliding window is not working. I think its just stuck shut. I never use it so haven't really bothered to mess with it. Still love this truck like the day I bought it and that zero dollar payment makes it even sweeter every time I look at it.
