I have 98k on the clock and just did some fluid changes, rack and pinion seal, diff fulids, and I have that annoying tick. I intend on pinpointing the solution the next time I am home, but other than that she runs just fine!

The knock is in the tensioners. The whole kit to replace the tensioners, sprockets, chains etc, is pretty expensive. If you take it somewhere to get it done, they'll tell you the kit costs $600, with labor anywhere from $800 to $1100. The other drawback is the knock comes back.

I am hoping it is just the exhaust manifold, bolt, or gasket that is causing my audible tick...but yea the phasers are next on the list if not

'04 Lariat Super Crew. Bought her in '07 with 90K and just rolled over 250k. Not sure of what repairs were done with previous owner but I've had to do very little and even with the Wisconsin winters I only have one small area of rust.

Been a while

Hey 150 people, as much as I hate to admit it it's been a number of years since I was last on the site. Figured I'd report in on my daily driver which is an '05 150 (for those of you who don't know me), is my only vehicle and also my work truck. It is the best damn vehicle I've ever owned, all the previous ones were Fords as well with the exception of an ElCamino. At present it has a little over 251,000 miles, it starts up every day and runs like brand new every day!! I've owned it from the beginning and have kept up maintenance on it myself as I don't trust but one other person to touch it. On probably the only sour note to it, it is on it's second transmission (a junk yard trans) but that took almost 225,000 miles to occur so I really can't complain, considering I kill em at about every 100,000 miles

04 f150 xlt 119k on it. Nice Lil lift with 35s on it. Runs beautifully , love it. Other than this nasty vibration in 4wd. Pinpointed it the front diff after i saw the fluid in there. However took it to the shop and now they are saying it's my swaybar. Even though I only put it on for the winter and the problem was before that. Other than that best truck I've owned.

My 04 Lariat has 127,000. Today I changed my alternator and original serpentine belt while at it. This is the first real issue that I have had outside of normal maintenance items. Love the truck and plan to keep for several more years.

I have 85k on my 2005 screw cab with 5.4 and just changed the ball joints both upper and lower. other than the usual injector issues (twice) It has been good. Have replaced three window regulators, and by the way the Doreman ones are much better the the Ford ones. My first truck and probably my last. Don't want any car payments.

173,000 miles
New Motor 155k
New transmission 171k
305/55/20 terra grappler bilstein 5100 fat bobs aal xd monsters 20x9
The aal really helps. Have 1/2 yard salt in bed 9x12 trailer. Honda 420 with 52" plow. Ariens and toro snow blowers

Timing chain needed repair around 150k. Engine did not go back together right. 155k Got new longblock 3yr/100k warranty.

Reverse went out on transmission. Had whole transmission rebuilt with warranty

The new motor ticks too. Sometimes loud. Im not concerned as the truck always drives fine.

I have 99k miles on my 04 scab. All fluids are up to date (Royal Purple), new spark plugs, new rear shocks (Bilstein 5100), new headlight HID 6000k, installed a DeeZee tailgate assist (no more dropping the heavy tailgate), and added a Master Lock's tailgate lock. Caught someone trying to steal my tailgate...A-HOLE!!!

The only irritating problem I have is either a rattling or static type sound coming from behind the dash. Only happens when driving long distance and comes out once in a while. Anyone have a similar problem?

Good lookin truck, I'm in Wisconsin too and my '04 has finally started to show visual rust around the drivers rear wheel well and around the gas tank lid. I'm at 144k right now and I plan on keepin it till about 2019, or till a magical check written to me for a new truck falls outta the sky ! haha

Thanks. Your truck looks good. If you look close behind the drivers side passenger door and the very bottom you'll see the rust. It's not bad and I plan to have it worked after this winter. I have been waiting for a surprise check for a long time....I have also hinted at taking a drive to California and let Foose steal my truck for a week....

What rims are those? I have often thought about starting to black mine out, but I am not sure how this color would look without the chrome...which I also like.

I like the style of my factory rims (minus the center cap) and yours are close to the double spoke style.
