Sorry to hear about the bad news. You had one of the best looking trucks on the site. It will all work out. At least you're all right. If your insurance company gives you a hard time, have a lawyer go over the contract you signed with them.

Good luck and God Bless.

You should sue Ford for the air bags not going off. I don't think the manual mentions that in the event of a frontal collision you should try to hit the middle of the grille. Seriously, based on those pics, the air bags should have deployed. They'll settle out of court in a BIG hurry for that kind of negative publicity. Let them pay for the whole damn thing (and then some )

That's pretty frickin' gnarly. Ain't nothing that can't be fixed/replaced, though; at least you and your people came away in one piece.

(He told me that he had just gotten back in the truck from taking a break at a rest-area and hadnt buckled back up yet when he merged onto the interstate and was getting him-self situated when he looked up BANG the deer was standing in front of him) The Dealer told him the reason the AirBag did not deploy was a safety precaution... the SEATBELT's have to be buckled for the Airbag Sensor to deploy them. Said that if it was a head on collision like that and the occupants were not buckled in the had a better chance surviving the impact with out the AirBag slamming back into them as they are flying forward.
Airbags use rate of deceleration as a reference to whether deployment is needed or not, more than the severity of the crash. When your friend ruined Bambi's day, Bambi gave way under the weight of your friend's vehicle at speed. It'd be a different story if he hit something like a bridge abutment or another vehicle head on.

Well, I am not Quintin. But I do hang around a buddies body shop alot, and help him out when I can. I would guess around $8K if your lift isn't screwed up.

It's difficult to say for sure from those pictures, but I agree with PHS79, $8Kish would probably be a good start. There's a good possibility of frame damage though, I think anaheim hit something and it didn't look anywhere near as bad as yours, he had to get the frame replaced.

Ford said the front piece of the frame needed to be replaced, nothing else. I think I'm going to end up fixing it myself. I've got a friend who is going to get all of the parts, brand new, for cheeeaaaap!

What do you guys think about this though? Black bumpers with FX2 grille and Harley Headlights? . . or just go chrome bumpers with stock headlights?

I'll accept that.... Sounds reasonable enough, and makes sense! :o

Sorry about the truck Thump-it was also my favorite.

Speaking of Bambi...I hit a big doe new years eve while doing about 55. I hit her pretty much dead center with the front end but it wasn't enough to set off the air bags. Anyway the dealer told me I have $4,500 in damage (fender, bumper, radiator, headlight assembly, grill etc..) and I don't think its nearly as bad as yours. Good luck.
