Glad to see you are still with us. Rubber, plastic and steel can be replaced, you cannot.

That's exactly at what I was getting at. Those who are in the law enforcement community can get information in a variety of ways, I'm just telling how not to post or even speak of something because it can always come back to bite you in the ***.

I guess publicly saying "I did it" without reserve should count. Small 'crime' though, so, meh. At least he was sober.
You would be amazed at what type of "confessions" are permissible in the courts.

Quite curious, I experience mine one time that my truck beeps when somebody is not wearing seatbelt (and that's the guy on back seat).

Stand to be corrected if I am wrong.

Anyway, as everybody says thanks that you're okay and have time to tell us your story. Goodluck for your new struggle.

[QUOTE=ThumperMX113]I was going around the turn and something ran out in front of me and I swerved to miss it. It was wet out so I started sliding uncontrollably. I clipped one tree, missed another completely, and than ran into a telephone pole head on.

The truck is in pretty bad shape, its going to be a tough call to say if its totalled. The right frame horn is pushed all the way in as well so. .[/QUOT

Thump, the important part of all this is that you are alright, things can be replaced, there are no more things important than the people you care for. So for you and your friends its good that all are okay. You can replace the truck but its hard to replace good friends.
Good Luck with the aftermath.

Thump,
Glad you're OK. Sorry about that Black Beauty, but that can be replaced. If you did not have an "OPEN" container in the truck, then there is nothing to talk about. If you were sober, then cudos for being the designated driver. It does not matter if there was unopen alcohol in the truck. It's only when open containers are present that sends up a red flag.

Glad you are okay!! Just remember it is only metal and plastic, not bone and flesh! If they total the truck are you going to get another one? If not what are you going to do with all the upgrades you put on? Where are the pics?

Even though you might have gotten them cheaper, give the insurance company the highest suggested retail of every mod you have done and tell them that, that is the cost to replace and that should cover all of your mods, your deductable, and then some. Good luck bro, glad everyone was ok. TELL YOUR FRIENDS TO BUCKLE UP!!!
Good thing ya was in a truck, next time just smash whatever ran out in front of ya. That's one reason we have these big ol trucks Good to hear all ya got was a little sore. I'm looking around for another insrance co. now. Cause my insurance will only cover the damages to my truck & only up to $1500 in customizations Well that's just one reason I'm lookin' for another one..

I think this being a little blowen out of proportion, as i highly doubt the local pd station will go search the web to see if they can find a young man admitting to alcohol being in the car when they dont even think there was any.

But if you are under 21 then even a closed container can cause you some problems. However, its nothing serious, as stated already you would be giving a MIP "Minor In Posession"

Damn Thump, sorry to hear about the truck, was personally my favorite truck on the entire board. As most have already mentioned though the important thing is that you and your friends all managed to avoid serious injuries and are around to tell your stories today. Hopefully you can get'er back into shape or we'll all be looking forward to your next creation. Good luck!

From the sounds of it I will put a lot of money that is isnt a total loss. I have have 2 cars f'd more then what thump is saying and they both patched up and given back (the hunk of crap that they were now). If the airbags didnt go I would almost put my life that they will just patch it up and give it back. I say patch because it will never be the same. One of my cars worth a lot less got stright t boned, the whole front clip bent to the side motor/trans all f'd up and they fixed it. It had a bend frame/unibody dashsupport I mean a mess and they still wouldnt total it

Glad you're ok.. that's the main concern..

On a side note.. It doesn't matter if there was a dead hooker, 4 gollons of moonshine, a kilo of crack and a bed full of weed... This has nothing to do with the driver and whether he was sober of not.. If he was sober... everything is clean as far as insurance companies are concerned.. and if he didn't get in trouble when the cops showed up to talk to him.. he won't get in any trouble.
