Actually, you would be amazed at what kind of confessions DON'T end up in court... supression hearings can be a bit ridiculous. Besides, I can't imagine what detective would be surfing F-150 message boards looking for evidence that alcohol may have been in a vehicle during a single-car accident.

Also Thumper, I wouldn't put too much stock in what the cop told you. Unless he's worked for an insurance company, I doubt he can really say what insurance companies do "most of the time." But he may be right.
