Load it up on a trailer and take it down to Troyer Performance for the finishing touches and the tune.

Either way, hope it gets up and running.

Ive been reading this from the beginning and I must say Rafa you have exhibited an EXTREME amount of class in dealing with this. However, I find that even I am upset about your truck not being done and well obviously I have no reason to be. Everyone here empathizes with your problem but there must be a way to start playing hardball....if it were me id ask to take the truck for a test drive and then screw on the bill. Let them chase you down for 6 months and periodically return THEIR phonecalls. Give them a taste. Goodluck

Hay Rafa, Sorry to here no truck yet! Good luck with the outcome.
Oh and I happened to mention this over on the lightning site and this is what JDM had to say. Thought you might want to see it.

Its not a L so I'm shore they had a lot of things to work out.
Should be top notch and bad ***** when its done.

From Jim,
Every part on this truck was custom made and we didnt get half the parts from Whipple and other manufacturers untill just about 2-3 weeks ago, 1 was just yesterday!!! since then its just about finished now just really waiting on the dyno! Rafael is a great person to deal with its just that he wants his truck which i understand. But the parts he requested us to use didnt exist!!!! So we had to make them or have them made, which takes time no matter what shop its being done at.

Yes no doubt we are busy but putting together a built lightning will take only a portion of the time as it does to build a custom 5.4 3v alum motor whipple 600 HP Lincoln truck, with non existant parts. Ask leach how long it took his buddy to have his truck go from a blown up mild lightning into a 10 sec capable street truck....6 Days!!! That was motor, trans, rear, fuel system, suspension, fitting for bogarts (1 day itself!) full custom tune...cranked out 680 RWHP!!!!!! And he hasnt had an issue since almost a year later

I have a friend that solves issues like this one with a baseball bat and 1 visit..

He's never been disappointed...but I guess that would eliminate a JDM custom built truck...

Good luck with the truck..

05RoushMarkLT, my education does not allow me to act with JDM or anyone else like that.

I am the kind of guy that calls like once a week or less. Actually most of the time, i called them once every 15 days.
The result of that you can read on this post.
Rafa, it's been a while since I've gone back through the thread. I know you have been extremely patient, and somebody like you does not get to the point of being able to build a truck like this from having a bad reputation. I think you've been more than patient, and handled this well, but being the "nice guy" sometimes leads you to being pushed around a little. From the sounds of it though, it appears as if there are extenuating reasons why it has taken this long, so maybe this time frame is not completely JDM's fault. It sounds like they should be a little more up front with you though.

Good luck with everything and make sure to hop out of the drivers seat for a few minutes to give us an update.

i'm certainly not going to defend them, but i have to fabricate everything for this setup myself. and it takes time and a little trial and error. i wish they fabricated stuff there that they needed and didn't have to order parts.

consider a CNC fabricated part. not only does the prgram have to be written, but a fixture has to be fabricated to hold the new design. that takes a lot of money and time. what i see as their major error, is their ability to estimate fabrication time. they should have had a respectable tiem limit amd stuck to it. if it takes 9 months, then set that as the timetable up front so you sould limit the requirements to a time you can handle. i doubt this was too much for them to handle, but they needed a time frame up front. i fully expect my project to take another year before i get to the 11.00 flat all-motor region. i set time tables for myself and try to stick to them. unless a part fails to perform as expected, then that sets me back. they need to do the same thing, so a customer can ask for it or go elsewhere to a shop that can do it sooner.

this 5.4 3v stuff is all new. nobody has done this. we are all trailblazers.

JDM already has a bad rep, has had one for years, it's just too bad that Rafa didn't find out about it in time.

JLP could be a lot better for Rafa than JDM. I never hear any complains about their honesty.

Rafa, You are a much more patient person than I am. Here's a brew and really hope it is all worth it in the end and done correctly. Which after this much time it should be considered a crime if not done perfectly.
