It's still going to weight somewhere in the range of 6000lbs! Not to mention the aerodynamics of a full-size, four door, 4wd truck. Don't get me wrong, the truck is going to be bad, very bad, but Vipers and Z06 Vettes will eat it up. To get a truck in the speed range of the cars you mentioned, Rafa will have to do some serious weight reduction, and from seeing his comfort mods, I don't think that will happen. Don't be delusional. Big hp doesn't neccesarily mean faster. My GT500 will not beat a Z06 vette even though I have more hp. My car weights a lot more.

It is actually possible for a truck like Rafas to beat up on Vettes and the like. Heck here is a couple of videos of a F250 4X4 7.3PSD with 6" of lift and 37's thats putting out 550ish RWHP and weights around 7800lbs
vs. a late model Vette
vs. another Vette

vs. a trailered drag car on slicks

I just think Rafas truck being 2000lbs lighter, having 200+ more rwhp, and being lowered it should make for a very interesting matchup against a Z06. But only time will tell......

Yeah anything is possible if you throw enough money at it. The only problem I see with your vids are that the 1st one is a C5 Vert....LS1 345HP, and the second one is of a 87ish C4...L98 with 245HP. The new Z06 is much lighter than both and has 505HP...so a Vette is not a Vette. Also they are running 1/8mile...aerodynamics and all will play a much bigger part on the top end of the 1/4mile than the do in the 1/8th. Plus I am betting that truck was in 4wd is why he pulled off the line so hard with no spin. Rafa won't have that option. Again he will have a hell of a truck but its still got all the faults of a truck and will take A LOT more than some extra HP to out run a factory super car.

only 550 ish hp......he's well into the 1000-1200 ftlbs range! torque is what moves weight. now to get a gasser into 1000 ftlbs is a feat in itself.

Rafa-
that's a better price than what I found. I found a complete engine for like 36k or 37k.

750- 800rwhp, does mean he will be making 800-1200hp. Since when does a gt500 have more hp than a zo6? I've even read a mag where the gt500 couldn't even beat the C6 in the 1/4 mile. Probably bad drivers, but still. Slap a procharger on an 05+ mustang gt and blow that gt500 away.

Yeah....I got beat (1/4 mile) in my 98 Cobra by a F250 Diesel that was putting down around 600 to the wheels. I run a 13.0-13.2 in the 1/4. We ran for 1 mile. He had me by 1 truck the first 1/4 mile. But as speeds reached 100mph+, things got ugly for the truck. I started to pull on him. By the time I reached 130mph, I had a couple cars on him, and by 150mph, he was barely in my mirrors. It was like a brick in the wind. It was freaky to see this GIANT truck right beside you going that fast.

06+ Z06 cars are VERY fast. They rank as some of the fastest cars on the street right now. It's not the HP on paper, but in the real world they are beating some 600 real wheel hp Mustangs. Z06's only weigh like 3000 pounds. I think a 6000 pound truck would require somewhere around 1000 rwhp and some serious suspension mods to pull it off. Not that I am a chevy fan....but the "new" Z06 is one mean machine.

Since it's been tuned! 464 rwhp means more than 505 at the flywheel. I didn't say ANY GT500, I said MINE! And all I have to do is drop another $385 on it and I'll pick up another 99 rwhp! As far as your mustang gt comment, why stop at the procharger. Hell go ahead and add NOS, strip the interior of everything but the drivers seat, put some drag slicks on the back. I could go on and on. You can mod anything if you got the money. I'll put my buddies Miata with a stroked 5.0L in it against a procharged mustang. Evolution Performance has their GT500 in the low 10's with their mods. So keep reading your mags and believeing everything you read, because you know if it's written down, it must be true.
